"Hotel was stunning both inside and outside and the staff were really friendly and polite nothing was too much trouble. Bed was really comfy and breakfast was excellent would come back to stay next time we are in Chester. "Overall great. Just a few issues with service especially when you arrive to check in, and all you want to do is get it done efficiently with your family in tow.
So when a guest arrives, please great them. Don’t wait for them to wonder what to do next; so I guessed that the newly installed tablet maybe for me to you use, considering I had been ignored. (No other guests). Standing, there, knowing I am there, not acknowledging or asking if I need any assistance. Not a good look.
Otherwise one other issue. Couldn’t get booked into the gastro pub, as it was somehow full, even though maybe at most visibly 40% occupied. I guess not enough staff to provide quality service. However I was able to get into the a la carte restaurant and it was fantastic. Well done.
The room was a real highlight, wonderfully spacious, clean and with character. Funny thing though was the faucet for the sink, which was so low, I couldn’t get water in the room supplied kettle.

"Staff are wonderful. The hotel is 5 minutes walk into town. The room was extremely hot, window only opened slightly, no A/C The bar could do with more ambience, felt a bit like an airport lounge. Maybe dim the lights, a few plants and put candles on tables. Really annoying having to pay for parking £28 for two nights, however that seems to be most English hotels in towns. Overall I would go back."
