The first thing i want to say is over the years i have sung the praises of this hotel at least 4 times, and i have had a great deal of experience staying here, as i have probably stayed here around 50 times in the past 4 years.
I booked a room for 12th January 2022.
2 days before my stay i receive an email telling me there is no bar or restaurant, and that my key will be left in the room.
This was blamed on Covid and current restrictions.
Not too bad i thought, i can pick up food on my way to the hotel.
I arrived at the hotel to find the room i should be in was locked (107).
I managed to find a member of staff wh then informed me i was in room 108, i explained the email, to which i received an apology.
I explained that the reason i have stayed at the hotel over the past 4 years was due to the relationship i had developed with the staff and the standard of the food in the restaurant.
If this is no more, why am i staying?
I was assured this would be rectified next month.
I entered my room, which was bitter cold, bearing in mind my car had stated the outdoor temperature was -2.5 when i arrived.
I tried to turn the heating up, to find out there was no heating, and actually spoke to another resident who had been there for 2 days, and he said the heating had not been on for his stay.
I was freezing, so i ate my food, and found myself having to get into bed at 9:30 just to stay warm.
I woke at 6:30 and went to take a shower, only to find the water was luke warm at best.
