"We had a lovely stay overall. We visited for one night and were kindly given a complimentary upgrade to a lodge room, which was a really thoughtful touch. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout, and the breakfast was excellent. I’m unable to comment on the evening dining or spa facilities as we didn’t use them—unfortunately I couldn’t access the spa due to being pregnant—but they looked fantastic from what we saw and from the photos. The only downside was the cleanliness, which didn’t quite meet expectations. When we checked in, there were dead bugs on the bed and side table, and quite a few cobwebs in the outdoor area of the lodge, which meant we didn’t use the seating outside. At breakfast, we also noticed dead flies on the windowsills, which isn’t what you’d expect from a hotel of this standard. That said, everything else about our stay was great, and we would return. It just felt like the cleaning standards may have slipped slightly during the weekend we visited."
Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa

"The room was very clean and well maintained and the comfort of the bed was amazing. Check in staff were polite and friendly. Breakfast was Self service but superb. We didn’t use the spa on this occasion as we were there to attend a wedding but have used it previously and it is top notch. My only bug bear is that due to not booking direct I had to pay for parking at £12. This didn’t sit right with me because if using the spa, parking is free, if I had just attended the wedding and had not stayed the night parking would have been free. So then when I give them more custom of staying the night I had to pay because I hadn’t booked directly."

The Belsfield Hotel

"All excellent ! Only disapointment on this visit was checking in , there was only one person on reception and it was about 15.10 pm when I had to wait about 25 minutes to check in because there was a group of tourists checking in together. At that time of day there should have been more than one person on reception !"
Lakeside Hotel & Spa

"Nice hotel. Great seating outside on the lake and in conservatory- would be better if more seating in conservatory. Pub/bar area itself is very dark and dingy. Seats outside the bar area were nice but not enough - some of the drinks were dear -£16 for a large wine! Food in brasserie was nice and staff nice too. Parking free at the hotel and very close to the lake boats snd train. Lovely place near the lake and would stay there again if in area."
Lake District Castle Inn hotel & Spa

"Amazing staff, great location and parking The food is average and the menu is very limited, the room (19) has been updated recently but was right by the the main road and a noisy extract fan on the floor below which came on at 4.15am every morning. Overall it’s a nice big hotel that has been in the process of renovation for the last few years. It would be a much better experience if they could expand the menu and quality of the food."
