"Quiet location"
Hotel was very quiet, felt a little bit old fashioned. Staff were very helpful but sometimes a bit hard to locate e.g when we wanted to check out. Room was clean and comfortable but quite small for the rice paid. Needing a touch of retiling in bathroom. Food was excellent, well cooked and promptly served. Menu slightly innacuarate eg. whether veg were included, exact description of dishes.

"Family Room"
The room was large even with two foldaway beds for the children. It was quite warm, even though the heating was off and the windows open - but cooled down sufficiently when it was 'sleep time'! Read reports that the Wi-Fi wasn't too good, but we had no problems (we were in the main building), but we did have issues with the TV reception - very frustrating at 7 in the morning when the kids wanted CBeebies!!

"Pleasant stay overall"
Used this hotel as a base for a 2 week visit to the UK. Overall, it felt like our home away from home. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only drawback was the wi-fi was truly hit and miss. It was out completely for an entire weekend. And out, off and on, many other times. There is a lobby computer that I was able to use, but it was not behaving quite right either. When I notified the front desk of the lobby computer issues, they were helpful by printing my boarding passes from their computer. I was relying on the internet to make our day to day travel plans, so we often went to a nearby restaurant to use wi-fi to research our points of interest. As Americans, our phone did not work in the UK, so our wi-fi connections were very important to us. If they can get their wi-fi connections upgraded or fixed, I would highly recommend this hotel.

"Stay in a Bit of History"
We were only there for one night while visiting our daughter at the University of Glasgow (quick car ride away). It was a neat historic house in a residential area that had a very charming atmosphere and was far nicer than we expected for the price. The room was comfortable and had all of the amenities. We enjoyed dinner in their restaurant that evening and breakfast buffet the next morning, both were good. The staff was very helpful in general, and they offered to carry our bags up to our second floor room (which was not our standard in our experience with small places without elevators in Scotland…which was mostly do it yourself). Parking was very tight; small spaces compounded by an event going on in their banquet room that meant a lot of non-overnight guests that evening using a very small parking area. But overall, the downsides were minimal and we would definitely stay there again.
