The room was moderately sized, but was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ate at the Star Cafe restaurant inside the hotel and the food was good. The hotel is very well located. It is next to Huachiang Road metro station on Line 1 (Green). Line 1 runs east to west through Shenzhen and links up with the airport, train station and major tourist attractions. So it was very easy to get places from the hotel. As someone else noted in a review, confusingly there is a hotel of exactly the same name in Shenzhen, located near Hubei metro station. The correct hotel is on Shennan Middle Road, whilst the incorrect hotel is on Shennan East Road. So make sure you go to the right one! For some reason when I called the phone number listed in Expedia, it didn't work. However, when I spoke to the hotel they said it is correct, so perhaps it was just my Chinese phone.
It is my fourth stay at this hotel. Everything about (location, space, decor, staff) reflects a 5 star rating.
I always stay at the Horizon Club floor. the weakest point about this hotel is that the allotted space for the club lounge is too small for the number of customers who have to use it.
Breakfast becomes a serious problem. Staff is insufficient, food runs out,..
During happy hour it is not as bad, as the crowds are thinner and spread out more over the two hour span.
Everything else about this place is first class, and optimal for a business traveler.
Excellent location, a washing machine!! (laundry in Chinese hotels costs a fortune and laundromats are almost non-existent) and a comfortable, spacious room. The area outside of the rooms are bleak and dirty but the interior is great.
I had a wonderful stay at Hui Hotel. The staff were amazing - Bandy at front desk, Coco in housekeeping, Jojo my massage therapist, and the rest of the staff. The hotel was exceptional and met my very high expectations. Upon arrival to my room - a nice note from the general manager welcomed me to the hotel with a couple of delicious pastries and spa music playing from the TV which set a very relaxing tone for my week long stay. The room I booked was the "Premier Room" which had the walk-in closet I wanted and had partial view of the Central Park across the street. The bathroom was huge with separate tub which they included a package of bath salts; shower had a rain shower head; very nice slippers (not the cheap ones) and bathrobes. The towels were top quality and fluffy; the bed firm that included 4 king sized pillows. I had unlimited amounts of complimentary bottled water, tea and Nespresso coffee - All I had to do was ask Coco or the front desk and they gladly stocked up my room every morning or when I requested. The night table had controls of all the lights and the electric shades - very modern. The work area was spacious and the internet worked effortlessly - I was able to work for hours with no interruptions. The view from the top floor restaurant and deck was great! I had pasta for lunch on my last day and it was delicious. The hotel was excellent place to meet my business partner and a short walking distance to the electronics marketplace where I needed to be daily.
China in general is tough for English speakers - come on if I had a billion and a half speakers of my language and soon to be the biggest economy on the planet why should they speak English?
Anyway, LVGEM is no exception. Staff were extremely helpful but English was a real challenge. Also most taxi's had no idea about this hotel. Problem with Expedia is that it does not supply DUAL LANGUAGE instructions that any traveller can print and show to a taxi driver so be sure togo to the hotel website and copy the directions.
Lying west of downtown Shenzhen, the district of Futian is home to the Shenzhen Library and Concert Hall, as well as City Hall. Shoppers looking for electronics and high-quality clothes and handbags frequent the Huaqiangbei commercial area.
