"Hotel rooms fab and a great location Food was average re dinner. Breakfast was poor. Bacon wet and under cooked and black pudding was hard and like an ice hockey puck. Staff and management pleasant and helped if you needed it. Limited parking but other parking available local to the hotel."

"This was a one night stop in the twin room. It was small but had recently been redecorated so everything was new. The only downside was the toilet wasn’t main flush but had a noisy macerator which went off unexpectently during the night The owner was lovely and very accommodating . We ate in the bar and food was decent. Pie peas and a pint for £20"

"The guest house was welcoming and clean. Plenty of room in the twin bedroom and the bath/shower en-suite. Hanging and clothes storage was ideal. The beds were comfortable with lovely bed linen which felt luxurious. There was lots to choose for the delicious vegetarian breakfast which was served in our room. Our lovely hosts were friendly and helpful when needed. We will definitely stay here again."

"The hotel had everything we needed, close to the train station and numerous restaurants and retailers. However, we chose to eat our evening meal in the charming hotel restaurant. It was a delicious and plentiful, home cooked meal. Our room had a comfortable bed, lots of natural light and a large, full glass shower, which is difficult to find in conventional hotels these days. I wish to commend the hotel staff, in particular Ms. Gayle, at the reception desk, who went out of her way to return a valuable, person item, my eyeglasses. Without hesitation, she immediately put them in the mail. I received them within 24 hours, averting a holiday disaster. Thank you George Hotel, you truly made us feel at home!"
