Lovely little village with lovely quaint shopping
While Newton Rigg may not have many sights to explore, venturing just a little farther will lead you to top things to see and do like Rheged and Lowther Castle and Gardens.

Pooley Village is currently having a bridge replaced which was swept away in 2016. This has caused some disruption for vehicles and as a consequence the bus service isn’t fully operational.

Didn’t see anything. Only stayed in hotel to break up drive from Cairnryan ferry to home
Penrith is close by to the beautiful Lakes and scenery of the lake district, so having a car to explore is a must. Without one, transport is very expensive and limited.
