"Beautifully restored old mill on gorgeous property in the countryside. Four full bedrooms with really comfortable beds, plenty of linens, nice supply of starter supplies to get started, a cook’s dream in the kitchen with cookware that isn’t all scratched up, plenty of serve ware, glasses, etc., dining and lounge areas very nice. A wonderful place to stay and relax while being in the English countryside, close to castles, pubs, and nearby towns and cities. Owner was receptive and a point of contact accessible for anything you may need. Loved our two week stay!"

"We had a wonderful week away at Hawthorne Cottage. A perfect location to walk from and explore the delights of the Lakes. Added bonus of a great pub in the village serving good food too. Perfect little cottage delightfully decorated and perfect for two and our dog given the secure garden. Host was extremely helpful and welcoming."

"This was a short holiday for my husband and me, and our adult children. We had cosy fires every evening and some nice meals in the dining room and the area. Plenty of walks, plenty of shops in Penrith for buying supplies. Very clean and well equipped cottage. Thoughtfully decorated. Very quiet area. We will be back I am sure."
