It was built high on the fell and takes in views of Brotherswater and Ullswater and offers walking from the door to High St, Helvellyn, St Sunday Crag, Fairfield and many other popular spots. Almost every room has a spectacular view, especially the twin room which was originally an artist's studio. Stunning views. The drive up to the house is very bumpy, so if you have a low car, I wouldn't even risk it. We will be returning in the future. ##### Allan M. The cottage is in a beautiful location with a view of lakes and mountain ridges. There are several hiking trails in the area where you can also walk with children. We had some questions during our stay and they were answered quickly. There are quite a lot of things in the cottage, so it takes some puzzling where you can put your own groceries, for example. ##### Frits P. We were a family of 8 ranging in age from 15 to 77\. The house was perfect and quirky which we loved. Spotlessly clean and everything that we needed was there. The house is on the hillside and away from it all. We enjoyed walks from there around the nearby lake. Would love to return. ##### Gemma G. The house was warm and homely with plenty of space for us and 5 kids and all the amenities we needed. The drive up the track was a bit challenging but the location was worth it, the views from the garden and windows are amazing. It was awesome starting each day watching the birds and squirrels in the garden. After long walks it was nice to sit around playing some of the many board games and checking out the impressive collection of books. The log burner was nice to have but the house was warm enough so we didn’t need to use it. As a base we found it very convenient and were able to explore all over the Lake District without ever having to travel too far. The host was friendly and very accommodating. We had a great time and would love to come and stay again. ##### Steve B.
