Recently refurbished and renovated as a chic bistro winebar and luxury accomodation - throughly enjoyed staying here; would unhesitatingly recommend it to anyone - steep stairs to top most floor owing to the age of the building - only negative point .

Love little break

Great hotel, friendly staff and perfect location. The hotel was beautiful upon arrival and although check in was very busy the staff were attentive and polite. We had booked a dog friendly room and they had put in a dog bed, food and water bowls and some treats for my dog which was a lovely touch. Room service was great and the food and cocktails were amazing and reasonably priced. All in all I can’t fault our stay at all and would highly recommend this hotel, especially as a dog friendly...

The room was very clean and comfortable, modern and tastefully furnished.

Generally a nice place to to stay. The evening meal was excellent, but unfortunately that was not the same for breakfast, most definitely the "worst" full english breakfast i have ever had, dont know how they had the audacity to serve it up!!! Will not be returning.

Love this hotel. They give you a code to get into the room so you dont have to check in at all. Just walk straight in! The room was small but fine if you are only looking for somewhere to crash. The rooms are nicely done, clean and have a nespresso, sky TV etc. Breakfast was spot on too! I would definitely visit again.

My wife and I stayed overnight last weekend, a re-visit after our first time last year. We were impressed last time, and again this time, even though our expectations were high from previously. Last year we went after my wife broke her leg, and the pool provided the first time she was able to walk unaided, which made for excellent therapy. Arranged an early check-in with them before hand and on arrival at 1pm the 3 rooms we had booked we're ready for our wedding party. Breakfast was all cooked to order which was a treat. Parking is plentiful and secure. Highly recommended

Stayed here for one night in Room 5 (I think) As I was driving back from a festival in Dorset, I kept in touch with the hotel staff about my arrival and all was fine when I arrived about 7pm. There’s no private parking. Street parking only, but at least it was right in front of the house and free. The owner showed me around the B&B, the bedroom and the separate shared bathroom. It was very fantastic, I have known kevin since i started my shifts in stoke-on-trent. Very Gentlemen and warm as always. the room is very clean and very large as I didn't expect it. (the room I reserved) room was so warm and bed is new, I should say all is new from floor to ceiling. Fabulous stay at the Rose and Crown. Everyone welcoming and friendly, lovely clean room and a delicious breakfast!

It was empty in the lead up to Christmas, so breakfast was cooked to order rather than buffet style. Was surprised that guests were put next door to each other rather than spread out so heard the odd bit of corridor noise. We normally stay in the cheapest Premier Inn/Travelodge type hotel when in the area, but enjoyed the lobby space more than I thought and was worth paying that little bit more for.
