"Blisful"
Fantastic from start to finish. Giannini on reception exceptional. Restaurant staff went above and beyond for my partner and myself. The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable. My only criticism is the heating need to be amped up. Looking forward to visiting again soon 😍

"Chocolate is where the heart is"
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Bournemouth, especially if you're partial to a bit of chocolate. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, and the room was clean and comfortable. We stayed at the rear of the property, and so our window overlooked the peaceful greenery at the back of the hotel. Along with off road parking (which is a definite bonus especially during Bournemouth's VERY busy holiday season) and free WiFi, we had breakfast included with our stay, and this includes a wide selection of coffees, teas, juices, cereals, fresh fruits, and yoghurts, as well as your choice from the menu of a hot breakfast. You do get a sense that the chocolate DOES chocolate, from the chocolate making classes, chocolate influenced room names, to the pots of chocolate buttons that greet you as you enter the lobby. In terms of the location, it's ideally placed: Bournemouth town centre is less than a ten minute walk away, passing a good selection of cafes, bars, and restaurants along the way; and Bournemouth beach and pier is about a ten-fifteen minute walk away (depending on which route you take).

"An Exquisite Hotel"
I have just returned from a very enjoyable stay at the Washington House Hotel while my son & I visited Bournemouth Uni. I loved the style of the furnishings, the comfy beds, excellent choice of continental breakfast, free parking, ease of walk to the city centre & beach. But above all the high light was the professional & helpful service I received from manager James. I will definitely always stay here on future trips.

"Business or leisure - a great place to stay."
I've stayed in 100s of hotels and often find myself thinking "why don't they just do x or y" but not here. This hotel has pretty much thought of everything, from little things like proper tea and coffee in the room to big stuff like great staff who create a friendly, vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. Great, good value, food too.

Vintage tea room was a refreshing change to the normal hotel. Excellent breakfast choice and superb quality. Owners very relaxed and friendly but also very professional and customer orientated approach. Pocket Guide: Boutique Hotels in Dorset

Having served as inspiration to countless artists and novelists throughout the centuries, Dorset is a county practically brimming with romance. With rugged, windswept coasts and rolling, luxuriant countryside, it's easy to understand why the likes of Thomas Hardy felt compelled to try and capture its essence. As a destination for a special occasion, there are few counties that can rival what it has to offer. To make your visit extra-special, why not consider booking a stay in one of the growing number of boutique hotels in the county?

Why Stay In A Boutique Hotel In Dorset?

While a stay in a hotel can be a treat for anyone, deciding to spend your downtime in a Dorset boutique hotel can add another luxurious dimension. Boutique hotels are often smaller than traditional hotels, but this leaves the owners scope to attend to all those little details that larger establishments often overlook. You'll tend to find rooms are decorated individually and there is more attention to personal service. Boutique hotels in Dorset are generally blessed with fantastic views and scenery, helping you to relax and unwind.

An Affordable Slice Of The High-Life

However, booking a boutique hotel in Dorset doesn't necessarily mean digging deep: boutique hotels, such as the Washington House Hotel and the Cottonwood Boutique Hotel both offer an affordable slice of the high-life. Both these hotels provide stylish and intimate surroundings, with the Cottonwood offering an excellent restaurant as well as great accommodation. Dining in a boutique hotel is an altogether more personal experience; chefs are far more inclined to tailor dishes to your taste than in larger, more crowded hotel restaurants.

    Out-And-Out Luxury

While there are mid-range boutique hotels in Dorset, if you want to make your stay a memorable one then there are a number that fall into the luxury bracket. For a special occasion, check out places like the The Green House in Bournemouth, and the Best Western Plus The Connaught Hotel. The Green House is set in a Victorian villa and also happens to be a licensed wedding venue - perfect for couples who want to tie the knot in superb surroundings.

Dorset is a special county and worth a visit. Booking a stay in a boutique hotel will only help to make your time there that much more memorable.
