Pros: great location. Good facilities. Great for families in particular. Good breakfast. Cons: 1. Showers in new hotel rooms are not fit for purpose! The shower head does not stay in place once water is running so you can only "shower" holding the shower head. Easy to fix! Though really should have ...
3rd stay here and every bit as good as before. Something not noticed before is that the hotel is well insulated for noise. A large function appeared to be happening on the floor below my room but was not intrusive nor could not be heard.
Staff all very polite and helpful. Availability of sweets and mints plus the nuts and flavoured water was a nice touch. Unfortunately restaurant closed at start of stay. Feel guests should have been notified of this by email so as to arrive having made other arrangements. Difficulty accentuated by ...
Family weekend away to celebrate a birthday. Stayed just the one night. Check in and out was smooth and quick. We had dinner in the brasserie which was delicious with quick and attentive service. We didn't have time to use the swimming pool and health club facilities but probably will next time. ...
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel very much. It was very busy in Exeter and decided to stay in the hotel for dinner. We could not eat until quite late due to how busy it was, then our food did not come out together and it was not that hot but I do appreciate that it was particularly busy.
The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from Torquay station and is a short walk to the harbor. Bus stops that go to Babbacombe and Paignton a 5 minute walk away. (Good for us as we visited Paington Zoo and Kent's Cavern). We had a large room for 4 people which was very clean and spacious! The ...
Families adore coming to Devon at all times of the year, and especially during the summer months, because there is such a rich variety of attractions here, both natural and cultural. From great historic cities and towns like Exeter and Plymouth, to the rugged coastline full of smuggler's covers, and the wilds of Dartmoor, there's something for all ages and tastes. There's also a great variety of accommodation options on offer, including all kinds of B&B, guesthouse and hotel, suitable for every budget and requirement. A family friendly hotel in Devon is just what you need when you have small kids in your party.
What distinguishes hotels in Devon as being family friendly is that they go out of their way to meet the specific needs of their younger guests as well as those of their parents. Family friendly hotels have a less formal atmosphere than their bigger and no grander counterparts, and the owners often have children of their own so they understand what little ones want to keep them amused. The staff will be specially trained in ensuring younger children are kept entertained creatively, and treated with the same courtesy as mum and dad.
Whether the family friendly hotel you choose is in a large city such as Exeter, or closer to the rugged landscapes of Dartmoor and Exmoor, it will offer a range of on-site activities to keep the kids busy and happy. There's usually a playground, for example, and crèche facilities are provided so that parents can have a few hours to themselves. Such a hotel will often also often have a kids' club and there will be organised activities led by trained staff, such as pony riding or nature trails.
Just as devoted pet owners put great effort into finding a hotel in Devon that will welcome their dog with open arms as one of the family, so there are many hotels here that make it their business to be genuinely family friendly and ensure that visitors of all ages have a great time.
