Beds where really uncomfortable, rooms where tiny and not modern, no lift access for my disabled partner. Key card never worked and tried blaming us, food was basic. Main reception was the only part that looked lovely

Disappointing hotel
The hotel has recently been taken over and the restaurant has been renovated into an Indian restaurant which was very nice and the food was good, the photos on the website are all of the restaurant. The hotel is yet to be renovated, the rooms are basic. I was woken up in the night at 2.30am with either rowdy guests or staff laughing and shouting in the reception area which lasted until 3.30am, this is not the behaviour you expect in a good hotel. The breakfast buffet was non existent a cooked breakfast was offer with no choice and was very basic. I will not be returning.

Overall stay was good but overpriced for condition of rooms budget hotel at best... Rooms itself was big but it was not cleaned enough as we found dead insects around the room even in lamp shade and condition of furniture is very dated but hotel in decent location at least

Firstly the name international hotel was nowhere to be seen on arrival as it was called continental hotel!! Was not told that upon signing at the bottom of the check in sheet that any damages would be charged for which is ok if told about and if the room was faultless. On entering the room it was very clear that it was far from this. I took ten pictures of damages to report to reception that I did not want charging for and even after that found that the lights were loose on the wall and the bathroom sink tap was spinning loose. I asked why if they were charging for damage, why aren't they fixing the damage unless it's a money making scheme?? Then we came down to breakfast and was described as a buffet full English but was given a plate of scrambled egg, deep fried mushrooms, deep fried very cheap sausages, deep fried hash browns, and cheap cardboard bacon, I should know because I'm a chef. The rest of the breakfast offer was not great either. I would recommend anyone to stay here and have now decided to stick to well know chain hotels no matter how much more money I need to spend as saving money gives zero satisfaction.

There was an argument going on in the room above me into the early hours. I got the sense that the people staying above me were residents rather than guests. I got about two hours sleep and then the fire alarm sent off at 3.30 am for about half an hour. There was no fire and it flavoured to have been set off either deliberately or through carelessness. The fireman was rolling his eyes when I asked him in passing. I decided to pack up and drive home at 4am despite the fact that I had taken night sedation. Drove up the motorway for two hours and was back in my own bed by 6.30am.

I am sorry the fire alarm woke you, as you can appreciate, fire alarms are there to serve a purpose and i am sure if there had been a fire you would be happy that you were alerted to the fire, they are there for the safety of our guests.

Awesome staff , clean and comfortable
The front desk was very friendly and accommodating and helped me to get a new room immediately as the tv in my first room wasn't working. Rooms are clean, good size and comfortable for a few nights. Unfortunately there's no restaurants in the close surroundings. But overall I would recommend this place.

Rude owner, awful hotel
Stayed here as it was near to a wedding I was attending and thought it was reasonably priced. I wish I’d have paid the extra and stayed elsewhere. On arrival I noticed letters missing from their sign outside and thought this doesn’t bode well. Reception area was like something out of the shining. I asked was my room ready as I’d arrived an hour before check in and was told it was but to get in I’d need to pay a £10 fee. As the wedding started in an hour I paid the fee as I needed to get ready. I went to the room and noticed it was in poor condition, carpets and lamps were stained, kettle thick with limescale, foot prints on the walls. I informed the receptionist who offered to change my room, the rooms she showed me were no better. So she said I could speak to the owner later that day. I finished getting ready and on my way out I was introduced to the owner, who informed me that as I’d been in the room and got changed in there it was used and he would not issue a refund so I could stay elsewhere, not even a partial one. This was all still before check in time and the cleaning staff were all on site should the room I’d got changed in need a clean… which it didn’t. At this point the room had cost me £82, the Jury’s Inn was still bookable at £110. So to all future travellers avoid unless you have no other option!

There was no where to eat or drink at the hotel, the area was very rough people begging for money on the streets near hotel. The carpark back of hotel very unsecured, we parked in a more secured carpark but had to pay for over night stay. Outside of hotel at the back needs a good tidy up. The lift is very small and would not trust for it to break so we used the stairs. The room was not very clean like i would expect with Covid. The room also smelt of curry has the hotel did there own indian take away. No breakfast was available. Would not stay again.

Room clean and functional, Shower hot and coffee supplied in the room. Issue with door locking mechanism on room 212 - triple single room (temp fix), no bar and no breakfast on request (bar area being renovated). Parking out he back which was convenient too. We cut them some slack as they have just taken over apparently and these things can be easily rectified.
