Relaxing, quiet location.

Posted 08-Jan-2018
We stayed here for 2 nights at the weekend with our 2 children aged 8 and 4. The hotel is modern and clean, rooms are very spacious and the jucuzzi bath a pleasant surprise which the kids loved! Staff were friendly and the food lovely and tasty with a good selection available on the menu and from the special board. The location was quiet and tranquil; bliss! We would definitely return, it was a lovely weekend break.

Nice hotel for bed and breakfast

Posted 01-Jan-2018
Pros: Large room with king-sized bed and huge bathroom (rm 12)
Cons: Evening meals, particularly desserts (apple crumble just has granola sprinkled on top!)
Location: Close to Ravenglass and Wasdale which are good for walking.
Large comfortable room with huge bathroom and king-sized beds. Breakfasts good with plenty of choice. We were disappointed by the evening meals, however, especially on New Years eve when my Husbands meal was burnt on top and the cook refused to change it.

Pros: Relaxing
Hotel looks very impressive from the driveway. Reception was polite and efficient. The room and bathroom were huge and even had a jet bath. We ate in the restaurant and the meals were very nice. Overall a great hotel that lived up to everything expected.

You can book for only one night at the weekend

Posted 04-Dec-2017
Pros: Easy to find, good parking, decent food.
Cons: Shower doors could be better ended up with a lot of water on the floor!
Worth considering as you can book for just one night and not commit to Friday and Saturday night unlike others locally. The bar and evening meal food was good value and breakfast the same.

Cons: T.V reception, size of screen+a massive bath@ shower room with no heating but nothing was done about it.
Location: In a quite location, close to muncaster castle+ravensglass railway.
A very nice welcome, with a nice surprise,we were given an upgrade.A beutifull hotel wich for some strange reason discribes itself as a b@b? a 5 star place to stay.

WE WILL BE BACK 😊

Friendly staff, great location. Free upgrade on arrival, fabulous, room was lovely and spacious. Bathroom had great facilities but was a little tired in places. Evening meal, one of the specials main course was substandard but the rest was lovely. We did receive a refund and offered an alternative meal. Breakfast was everything I expected, lovely. Overall a great place to stay and at a great price!! And the history of the hall is fascinating too! Thank you all.

Great Value.

This is a comfortable hotel with courteous and friendly staff well located in the Western Lakes. The evening meal was very good, however the full English breakfast was the star of the show with a good plate of tasty non-greasy fried food.
