"We stayed at this gem of a pub on the way to Scotland. The staff are all super friendly and helpful too. The pub has excellent quality food and wines too. My husband had the steak pie, I had the fish and Chips both were outstanding. We liked it so much we booked for the following week on our way back. They are really dog friendly too! "The Boot and Shoe is a typical country pub . Full of character . We stayed for one night. The room was basic but comfortable. Shower was good . It was very quiet from around 10pm so we had a good sleep. All the staff were cheerful , friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. We had the evening meal which was delicious . I had the pork belly from the specials board , Breakfast was very good too. We had the full English . "

"What a lovely old school pub and hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was great (a lot of locals seemed to be eating here too). Room was simple but comfortable and very clean. "Fantastic location & views. Very basic which let it down. Not great when you travelled 4hrs on the road & not find any milk in fridge for a cup of tea. Lovely shower but all the mould let it down (even the fake plant was covered in mould). Tiny bath towels and no blind on window,Hole in fence has not been fixed but some broken chairs put in front which didn't take my dogs long to figure out & no outside light in garden so i had to use my phone torch to make sure they did not escape at night....
