Staff care deeply about the castle and we thoroughly enjoyed the piano playing during the meal and the history talk after. Having read some of the other reviews, we can’t say we experienced any of the negatives and thought Peter, Sally (and chef!) did a great job it being just them running the castle."

"The staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. The food was very good. The hotel is very comfortable, well furnished and very quiet being a little remote. No outside noise and very little noise inside the hotel even with coach parties staying over. Looking forward to my next visit."

"Had to pay extra for using the spa facilities however we went down twice during our stay and you could have just walked straight in. Didn’t check if we had paid or not."

"Hotel rooms fab and a great location Food was average re dinner. Breakfast was poor. Bacon wet and under cooked and black pudding was hard and like an ice hockey puck. Staff and management pleasant and helped if you needed it. Limited parking but other parking available local to the hotel."
