"Expected a premium experience but unfortunately received poor service, rude staff, outdated room service menus, and ended up not being able to have dinner at all. Very disappointing for a Sofitel stay."

"Although I only stayed one night, the location was perfect for me, right next to East Croydon station. A very easy 5 minute walk. The lobby was welcoming and modern with many seats and lounges available for enjoying relaxing for a drink or just to chill. The receptionist was very helpful on my arrival and checking in was quick and easy, having completed online. The room itself was upgraded which was a bonus to a king size from a standard double. The room had everything I needed for a night stay. Breakfast was included and had the normal hot English or continental options. Unsure on different dietary requirement as didn’t eat in the restaurant. Overall faultless and not a bad price to pay for a London stopover. £££"

"The staff here are very good, helpful, friendly and with bags of personality. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. There were tea bags, coffee etc - biscuits would have been a nuce addition. The food, in my opinion, let's the hotel down. You are basically a captive audience. My partner enjoyed the steak pie. I had salmon with cannelloni beans, which was quite tasty but a very small portion."

"Basic last minute family room after our original property let us down. Fair price for what you got. Didn't like the strong smell of air freshener on the first night felt like it was an attempt to mask something as could have sworn we smelt cannabis around the landing etc the first night, gone the second night and we only stayed the two nights. Window in the room was hard to close properly and lots of loud traffic all the time. Staff was friendly and had banter , shop and petrol station across the road and close enough to where we needed to go. Fair property for the money especially last minute."

"I have stayed 4 times with work. This time I couldn't relax as I could hear scurrying around in the ceiling. Thinking this was a mouse/rat infestation, they assured me it wasn't but it was actually squirrels. They did move my room after reporting it. However if squirrels are known about, I was shocked I was put in a room with that issue. I may consider somewhere else to stay next time. "
