Love this place! As hotel prices in Padstow increase this is a great alternative. It is right on the beach and has a great bar/restaurant. The rooms are typical YHA but order the double bunk bed room and its fine. Super cheap for the area and perfect for all locations including Padstow, Wadebridge ...
We enjoyed a very happy week at Atlantic House - perfect for our family, it suited all ages and had everything we needed. Such a treat to be so close to the beach and to see and hear the sea from the house. Many many thanks Rupert. The Hickmans
As always, a delightful hotel with great staff and fabulous food, we love going there.
Cornwall may have a great deal to offer the discerning holidaymaker, but it's no secret that the majority of visitors to the county come in search of its spectacular beaches. Constantine Bay is one of Cornwall's best known and loved beaches, offering an extensive and sandy beach and a diverse selection of reliable waves. Thanks to its popularity, there's also plenty of excellent Cornish hotels and guesthouses in the area.
Constantine Bay is one of Cornwall's premier surf spots, facing west out towards the Atlantic. The reef on the south of the beach produces a reliable left hander, popular with all kinds of surfers. The break towards the centre of the beach is less consistent but is popular with beginners, thanks in part to the gently shelving beach.
At certain tides, a promising break can be found on the northern edge of the beach. Due to the hidden rocks, this area is only suitable for experienced surfers and those with knowledge of the beach. Across the dividing rock, neighbouring Booby's Bay can also kick up a powerful break, suited once again to experienced riders.
Families needn't be put off by the hordes of surfers peppering the watery horizon! The beach at Constantine is equally suited to holidaymakers in search of somewhere to relax on a warm summer's afternoon. The long stretch of clean sand is an ideal place for kids to build sandcastles, and there are a number of shops and cafés nearby for refreshments. There's also a lifeguard service which operates throughout the summer, and dedicated spaces for those keen to swim away from the surfers.
The Constantine area is home to some of the best hotels in Cornwall.
Just across Trevose Head, visitors can find accommodation near Harlyn Bay, and The Harlyn Inn. There's free breakfast at the hotel, as well as easy parking and friendly staff. From this side of the beach, it's easy to take trips into nearby Padstow - one of Cornwall's most popular towns.
The St. Merryn B&B offer an intimate accommodation option within easy reach of Constantine Bay. With plenty of space to store boards and park your car, this is a great choice for travelling surfers.
