Fly to the Sorrento Coast
The easiest way to get to the Sorrento Coast is to fly into Naples, where there is an international airport. This transport hub is located around 24 miles north of Castellammare di Stabia and 34 miles north of Sorrento, both of which are excellent starting points for a tour of the region. Many airlines operate out of Naples International Airport (NAP). However, a large number of flights are seasonal, which means they do not operate all year round. The airport is equipped with shops, restaurants and a VIP lounge which passengers from any airline can enter for a fee.
Booking Flights Into Naples International Airport (NAP)
The international airport in Naples serves a variety of destinations, the majority of which are in Europe. You may find it easier to fly direct from your chosen departure point during the summer months, but flights may also be more expensive at this time. If you cannot book a direct flight to Naples International, try using the Expedia multi-flight booking tool to track down an affordable connecting flight.
Low-cost carriers such as Wizz Air, Eurowings, Transavia and easyJet are recommended for travellers on a small budget. Airlines such as Swiss International Air Lines, British Airways and Air France, meanwhile, can be used to book business class tickets.
How to Travel Along the Sorrento Coast
If you are planning on visiting the many small towns peppered along the Sorrento Coast, then you may wish to hire a car at Naples Airport. From Naples, the drive to Castellammare di Stabia takes just 40 minutes, passing Vesuvius and Pompeii on the way. From here, you can follow the coastal roads through to Sorrento and the nearby scenic villages.
If you do not want to hire a car, you could consider booking a coach tour or travelling by train or bus. A short ferry trip can take you between Naples and Sorrento. Additionally, a train service stops at a number of towns between Castellammare and Sorrento, making rail good option if you want to explore the area without a car.
