We loved the young lady- front of house who also looked after us at every breakfast time. She was so friendly & helpful & made our stay so much more enjoyable. I knew she would sort anything I asked. The hotel was a gem of character, parking not a issue. Loved loved Burford s and would definitely return. Karen Crowhurst

erfect in every way!
Our stay at the cottage was perfect in every way. Everything was clean and well stocked. Covid prevention measures were in place and our host Scott was very helpful with information about the area. The breakfasts and lunch were amazing we felt very well looked after and welcomed. Burford house is in a prime position on the high street and we found it a perfect place to explore. There are plenty of pubs and eateries around if you fancy spreading your wings a little further. We will definately be returning in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Clean spacious room with a comfy bed! All the staff were lovely and we had a great breakfast, would definitely recommend staying here if you’re planning a trip to burford 😊

Charming if a little expensive
Beautiful location, stayed for a friends wedding nearby so the location was ideal. Quite expensive at £165 per night, including breakfast. The room itself was relatively comfortable although there was no blind or shutter on one window which meant waking up with the sunrise which was not ideal. The cleanliness could have been improved and a few repairs were necessary, plug in bath and sink had broken chains and mould on the ceiling surrounding the shower. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, staff were very accommodating and friendly and the overall look and comfort of Burford House is very charming and lovely.

Wish we stayed in a different room.
Old place with lots of character but we stayed in the Taynton room which is reached by a very steep, narrow staircase, had extremely low headroom, two broken window frames and contained a bed with a hard, lumpy mattress with protruding springs. Staff were helpful and friendly and breakfast very good.

The Staff went out of their way to make our stay most welcome. Even after having a problem with the plumbing in our room, it was dealt with most efficiently by Rebecca ( Bex) who arranged an alternative hotel for the night whilst it was being fixed. We had an enjoyable stay.

Classic Cotswolds
We had a lovely stay. Room was large and comfortable. We had a twin made up as a double so the bed was huge. Comfy mattress with lovely linen. Room was a little dusty in places but did not detract from the stay. Good choice of breakfast with fresh fruit, pastries and hot options. Classic Cotswolds feel and would stay again.

Nice small hotel
Lovely little hotel with great staff, very helpful and friendly. We stayed in Taynton room which in my opinion could do with a little TLC and definitely would benefit from a new mattress. Also, be aware that if booking this room there is a very narrow steep staircase to climb to access the room so would definitely not be suitable for someone with mobility issues. That said the room was clean and a very good size. Food was great and excellent quality breakfast produce.

Just six rooms above a public house on the main street. Convenient but wildly varying in staff ability. No wifi in our (the best) room in the house (why?), burnt out bulbs in bathroom, but we discovered where the toilet paper was stored and helped ourselves whenever we needed...

It is the first time I have ever been asked to settle my account when booking in. As the hotel had my card details when I booked why they need to do this I don't know. We heard others checking in being asked to do the same. The hotel was tired with window frames that were rotten in the bedroom. The carpets needed a good clean and cobwebs were noted in the room and there was mould around the shower. The cistern took ages to fill. The front of house were rushed it seemed and when asked what we would like to drink at breakfast one of us asked for tea whilst the other would have liked coffee but wasn't given the chance to order as the waitress had rushed off. Saying that the breakfast was delicious. There was no parking at the hotel and we parked in the local car park as advised by the hotel only to find our car vandalised the next morning. Not a good hotel for older people or those with health issues because of the winding staircases.

The Hotel is a star, the service the villain.
Beautiful hotel and room with 4 poster bed stunning but booking mix up, despite ringing a month ahead with requests, chosen room was given to other guests. Staff and management apologised but unsympathetic and inflexible with any token of going the extra mile in customer service completely absent. Breakfast very poor quality, the next table were banging their bacon on the table it was so hard, looked precooked and reheated. They take your money and couldn’t care less about customer service.

Your site should have alerted us that there was no lift. My elderly aunt had a hard time with the narrow stairs and the very uneven floors. The place is in Ill repair but the staff is helpful and friendly and the little restaurant is very good. It is perfectly situated to see many of the wonderful Cotswold villages which made our trip.

As a 17th century old building, unfortunately we are not able to have a lift - i will look into this on the site. We feel the narrow stairs & uneven floors are all part of the Cotswold charm. We are please that you enjoy the restaurant. Regards

Very welcoming and accommodating. Everyone was helpful and genuinely pleasant. The food and atmosphere were excellent. The town is simply charming-as are the many shops and restaurant/pubs along the street.
