"This is a quaint two bedroom property all on one floor with a well stocked kitchen and large bathroom & shower. Barry, the owner, is very helpful & friendly. I would thoroughly recommend it. It’s not the Ritz but hey how many people stay there!! Central for St Albans & 15 min walk to City Railway station. "

"We booked this through hotels.com and got a confirmation and pre paid but when we turned up and eventually found someone they said they don’t have a room as we have rented it out for a long stay - no sorry no gift of compensation "

"At 10pm arrival in the area told by company that my room had been double booked even after a phone call in the afternoon confirming the room slept in car as other hotels fully booked. Dreadful service"

"We stayed one night because it was very close to friends we were visiting. The location was perfect for us. It was great having an easy parking space. Adele was extremely friendly and helpful. We loved that e we had the whole top floor. Thank you for a great stay!"

"This worked out great for our family. We spent most of our time in nearby Bishop’s Stortford with family. For rest, morning coffee and winding down in the evening, this place was perfect. It was clean and quiet, the mornings and evenings were cool and calm, very relaxing. The place is a bit remote, but that was easily remedied by the superior taxi service we experienced during our stay. We would strongly consider staying again on future visits and feel comfortable passing along this...

"No TV , no air con , not clean "

"ThiS is a superb lodge. 20 minutes walk from Addenbrooks. The décor is fresh and Impressive. The room had a high standard ensuite. Anna the proprietor was friendly and inviting, giving us details of the nearest fish shop, breakfast cafe, shop and pub. As I was booked in to Addenbrooks at 7am in the morning we were given a key for the room and ppne for the front door so we were able to come and go freely. We will use the lodige whren I visit Addenbrooks "

"Perfect peaceful stay, good location for access to villages and town. Very good value for money compared to most local stay overs."

"Chalet dated but very clean and well equipt. Fabulous location and we sat outside on the decking frequently. Very close to a main trainline into London but we knew this as visiting friends having previously lived in Broxbourne. Didn't bother us. Sofa not comfortable to sit & enjoy TV. Very hard. Only other negative was the twin beds. Despite the mattress toppers, the springs in the mattresses have gone. They do need replacing. Sadly we had an uncomfortable few nights sleep! "
