The staff and ambience of the hotel were lovely and we were sad that we couldn't stay longer.

The rooms are excellent. Lovely and clean. Food in the restaurant is nothing short of amazing. I can recommend the steak and kidney pudding. Best I have ever tasted

Friendly welcome on arrival and was actually shown to the room. Lovely and clean with refreshments and bottled water. Food was excellent both dinner and breakfast. Would definitely book again

Easy to find from main roads. After driving for 4 hours through the rain I was pleased to arrive at my destination. The hotel appeared a bright, happy star on the rainy horizon. The reception area welcomed me with it's serene, peacefulness. Staff only too happy to come to my help late on a Sunday evening. My room was large, cleanly furnished with a vast bathroom that I could have had a party in. The room was comfortable and perfect for catching up on some late night desk work. I slept well...

Lovely one night stay. The Sunday lunch was delicious, the room was lovely with a huge round bath. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Nice breakfast. I'm sure we'll return.

Our stay at Walworth Castle Hotel was truly memorable, not just because of the stunning setting, but thanks to the incredible staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Adrian, part of the breakfast team at the 1189 Kitchen & Bar, was friendly, attentive, and made sure we started each morning with a smile. All the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent and very good selection.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay in this beautiful boutique hotel. We booked the room overlooking the Cathedral which was stunning. The room was really large and immaculately designed. The gentleman who checked us in was so friendly and helpful. The walk was no more than 10 minutes to the centre. We were so impressed with this hotel and Durham we would definitely come back.

It is close to motorway and easy to drive around. Staff is friendly. Food in the restaurant is of high standard. The room is clean and spacious.

Checked in mid evening and was cold outside. Was informed at check in that the team had been to my room and closed the curtains and put the heating on so it was not cold. Wow now that’s some check in service

Fantastic, authentic castle with such history and higgledy piggledy corridors. It was our anniversary and we were welcomed with an anniversary card which was a nice touch. The staff were excellent. We only had breakfast which was delicious and staff were efficient and friendly. The food in the library looked good. We had a courtyard room and were very happy with it. If you're expecting modern, corporate decor it might not be for you but we liked it and so nice to stay in a castle with character....

The staff were very welcoming and helpful on arrival. The room was comfortable, clean and we slept very well. The spa was nice to relax in and worth paying the extra £20 per person for as you could use it all day. Breakfast was freshly cooked and they had gluten free toast ands croissants and the restaurant food was delicious with a good choice of gluten free options.

Had a really lovely night's stay. The bed was really comfy, the room was clean and well equipped, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good pub food with massive portions and very reasonable. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is peaceful and in a lovely setting right opposite a beautiful old church.
