really quiet, good room comfort, can't believe you guys carried the room service trolley up the stairs - didn't have coffee replenished in the room, would have preferred if there was cold platter choice for breakfast

Decent Hotel
My go to hotel in Bracknell - foods spot on, gyms great, rooms are decent. Could do with more light in the rooms, they’re very dark. And this time around my bedding was dirty which wasn’t nice!

My first room there was toilet paper down the toilet, I flushed it and it was blocked, the hotel was unable to send anyone to unblock it, I asked to be moved, the new room was 2 single beds, the sheets were clean, the room looked as if it hadn't been hoovered since New year's, as there was party popper string on the floor, among other bits, the overall house keeping is not good, as the corridors was dirty also.

Uncomfortable Stay at VH Bracknell
I had the most awful experience at the hotel and would request a full refund. I have raised my complaint with two managers both Charlie and Josie. My complaint is directly against two staff members who caused me to feel very uncomfortable. Aside from this the cleaners failed to change my towels or bedding for my second night. The shower was dirty, my bedding on arrival had two stains on the sheet

Nice but….
We stayed here before going to lapland uk. Loved the bustly vibe, busy with gym, restuarant and pool. Stayed with my husband and my 8 year old. we went swimming and got told after 10 minutes we had to get out as end of family swim. Wasn’t happy as another family were allowed to stay in longer and when I mentioned it they said was due to another issue in the hotel. Still not fair as it was sectioned off on the other side for adult lane swimming so wouldn’t have hurt to let us stay in the pool as well. The room was freezing and no matter what we did on the temperature gauge nothing changed. Think it’s set on no heating! Ordered dinner in the restaurant and 50 minutes later asked where the food was and told they had not cooked our order as it had got missed and will cook straight away. I chose the healthy noodle dish and it was bland and mostly full of cabbage! The staff were friendly bit we just had a few issues in our stay which ruined it slightly.

Not what we were expecting.
It’s seems like an all singing, all dancing hotel but it’s like it’s been made by ikea. The room window was screwed shut yet had an almighty breeze and you can hear word for word any conversation outside. The walls/ceiling were like it’s made of paper, the noise from the upstairs room was unbearable and they were only walking around. It made it very tricky for our young children to fall asleep. It’s a shame as the room itself was clean and comfy but it’s the structure that has let it down. Self check in was easy and there’s a lovely member of staff there just to make sure everything’s ok. However that was the only good customer service we had as the restaurant was awful across all areas. Service was extremely slow and rude which isn’t great with children as they get restless easy.

Nice hotel with just 2 issues
Hotel was lovely and modern, easy self check in on the tablets which was great and nice reception / refreshments area. Only 2 reasons for lower score…. Car park was chargeable and super busy and hard to get a space, became hard work to try squeeze in last remaining space and then had to add it to our room charge. Secondly, our room shower was totally blocked, couldn’t even get a shower without it overflowing everywhere. No phone in room and in a rush to leave so husband couldn’t shower and I had to use 3 towels to stop it going through the floor! A cleaner has to have seen this when cleaning as it was so quickly over flowing. At lease with a phone in the room could have raised with reception.

Not a pleasant stay
We checked in the key wouldn’t register. Went to the room the heating was broken with an electric heater on the side not plugged in and the window open (it was 0 degrees outside) so we were freezing. There wa wa half eaten rich tea biscuit left on the chair for the dressing table. The beds were not made and definitely didn’t appear to be clean sheets, I think maybe the room had been tidied for an existing customer and not for a new stay. The bathroom had wet towels on the floor and hair in the shower. The restaurant was ok although no kids pricing advertised or options besides the kids buffet which is very basic bland kiddy foods. We stayed here last year and really enjoyed it but after this stay we won’t be returning it’s really gone down hill

Shower room that floods into the hotel room
The room smelt strongly of damp. Carpet had been flooded numerous times. When I used the shower I realised why. The shower room (we were put in an accessible room) when used flooded straight out of the bathroom door onto the carpet. The water stayed flooded in the shower room too resulting in sloshing around in water to use the toilet. We had to move rooms and were moved to another room which also smelt damp and had a water stained carpet. Instead of feeling relaxed and spoilt for my weekend away I was stressed and felt dirty.

Weekend stay.
Welcomed upon arrival, although no information provided ie breakfast time, check out times and parking cost. Bedroom looked inviting but so much dust under the bed and around the skirting boards and on the TV stand. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work. The window was full of condensation which also dripped down the wall. The window was missing a handle. Footsteps from the room above just echoed into our room (not the hotels fault as I'm assuming it was kids running around). Getting from the room to reception is like going through a maze! You'll understand if you've stayed there. The hotel needs to put signs up showing which way to go! The bar staff (especially the young lad was miserable and seemed moody this could be because they are over worked but a hello wouldn't go a miss) The breakfast and bar food I would recommend. A sign at the breakfast lectern asking customers to wait to be seated would be helpful as I'm sure people just walk in and help themselves to breakfast! Upon check out I asked about parking charges I told the girl at the desk that I put my reg in the iPad upon checking in so she said it should be fine then said oh just put your reg in the tablet at the door to make sure and yes there was a fee due! The best thing about the room was Sky sports on the TV this was great!

The hotel itself is really nice. It has a restaurant, Gym, Coffee shop and electric car charging. A lot of parking also. The staff are very helpful and friendly, The rooms are also modern and clean. However there were no lights near the bed apart from lamps and no type C charging ports near the bed and you cannot use the socket either because they are a special type. So I had a dead phone every morning. Also every morning they put on the news on full volume on all the screens getting you nice and depressed for the day. No body wants to watch the news first thing in the morning to know everything that is going wrong! The coffee is also very weak but starbucks saved the day.

The property itself was lovely however for me it was a toss up between this hotel and another with a pool. I finally went to this one only to find that you have to pay extra to use the pool and gym (£5 per day) and that they have extensive “splash times” where kids take over the entire pool. None of this is mentioned on the Expedia booking and, after being annoyed at paying the extra at check in, I soon discovered I couldn’t even use the extra facilities I’d paid for. I paid for both days in advance but complained after the first day expecting a refund of the extra charge but no such luck. Really let down by what would have been a nice place
