Lovely, helpful staff on arrival.
Really clean and comfortable rooms.
We spent most of time out and about... But would have equally enjoyed spending a bit more time in hotel.
Also a great calisthenics (bar park) just by hotel & canal! Bonus!
a little out of Amsterdam but not a problem with the trams coming roughly every 10mins. First morning shower didn't work and no towel rack anywhere, got the key to use another room, bit disappointed I had to ask to be moved to new room but the senior staff member heard of our issues and gave us free breakfast so all good in the end.
Don't use the restaurant, order snitzel which was burnt and deepfried, not nice however they were very busy with a tour group and little staff. breakfast more than adequate, staff friendly, amenities adequate for what it is which is 3 star hotel.
we had prepaid and then got home to see they had charged us and then credited our visa resulting in credit card charges and difference in exchange reates. However they were very prompt to rectify and refund us for this.
Would recommend Hotel De Hallen to anyone. Friendly & helpful staff, great facilities and well positioned with foodhallen on the doorstep and transport links close to hand. As a former tram depot, the hotel is packed with character and will be a hit with anyone who admires Scandinavian design & furniture. Amsterdam's picturesque canals, fashion boutiques and museums are all within walking distance or you can hop on a tram towards the central station.
Nice hotel, staff were friendly, however would have appreciated a bar or something so that we could have bought drinks whilst in the hotel, however room was extremely clean the bed was amazingly comfortable. Lovely stay and close to city centre.
The location of this hotel was very good! Travelling into Central Amsterdam from the doors of the hotel probably took no longer then 15-20 minutes! There were always trains running into Central Amsterdam and at 4 euros for a return ticket you can't really go wrong! The facilities in the room were some of the best i've ever encountered! The fridge/freezer came in very handy for storing things like juice and snacks! The microwave came in very handy after a very long day and the usual tea and coffee making facilities were great!
The room was cleaned daily to a good standard and all our towels were replaced regardless. Couldn't fault the cleanliness at all! The beds were very comfortable and we always slept well. The fact that we had control over the heat of the both radiators in the room was a bonus and the temperature of the room was always to our own liking.
The bathroom was just the right size, there was always hot water and the pressure of the shower was very decent.
The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. It is a 5-minute walk to Sloterdjik Station, which is 1 stop away from the Central Station and 2 stops aways from Schiphol Airport. Many young people stay here and it has a kitchen that can be used anytime. Overall, it was a nice hotel and I would stay here again when I'm in Amsterdam again.
"Nice, friendly, newer hotel next to train station."
The hotel located next to a major train station, very easy to visit Amsterdam Central and other cities, which has saved us lots of walk before and after the train ride. Staffs are very friendly, competent and helpful. Breakfast is simple, basic, yet with lots of variety of fruits.
In an old town, we truely appreciate this newer facility which is clean, modern and pleasant.
This combination of 4 residential neighborhoods lies west of the 5 concentric canals surrounding the city center. Westerpark's brick buildings and green spaces are popular with artists and host many cultural events. Kinkerstraat street in Oud-West features many ethnic cafes and small shops. Most city attractions, including Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum, and Red Light District are within 3 km.
