The state-owned Holland Casino has won awards for being socially responsible and the net profits go directly to the Dutch treasury. This will change when the casino is privatized (announced in late 2012).
American roulette tables give the place a lively atmosphere. Even if you’re not gambling, it’s amusing to watch others at the tables, playing poker and declaring “blackjack”! Learn the Dutch dice game Rocket 7, with multiple players. Starting stakes at most of the tables are minimal, unless you feel lucky enough to up the stakes at your own risk in the High Limit Area.

Holland Casino is on Max Euweplein, an entertainment area with terraces, galleries, a comedy club and Hardrock Café in central Amsterdam. It is just a short walk from the Leidseplein, a square with many tram stops. Just across the canal is the main entrance to the Vondelpark.
The casino is open daily until the early hours of the morning. All staff speak English. Take your passport with you to show that you are over 18 years old and respect the dress code.
