"Staff that are really helpful and always so happy"
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were so heplful. I can't fault our hotel experience at all. Nothing was any trouble at all. It was a special anniversary for us and we were given a complementary bottle of wine.

"A charming boutique Hotel on the canals"
Lovely building really well located. Good alternative to Pulitzer and Andaz ( and in a similar area).

"Beautiful building with an old feel to it."
The first thing that struck me about the hotel was it's resemblance to an old museum. The interior is beautiful: really special. The bathroom was so gorgeous. It had curtains on the outside of the bath, and the bath was deep enough to go past my shoulders while I sat upright! There's also plenty of room for two, with surface space on either end for a glass of wine ;) The lighting was a bit dim, but it just added to the romantic and old fashioned atmosphere. I would say that it's best to request a room at the back if you find it difficult to sleep with noise. The front is quite noisy as the hotel is on a main road. The staff were so freindly and eager to please. They left a plate of biscuits in my room with a birthday message. Also, there are real coffee machines in the rooms! Fabulous.

"Best hotel ever!! Stop looking and just book here"
Staff who couldn't do enough for you, that's all of the staff, not just a few. They were helpful, friendly, informative and really good fun. A design hotel so very plush and stylish throughout, our triple room wasn't cramped, beautiful wetroom style bathroom, luxurious with plenty of towels and an espresso maker :) We dropped off our bags and were checked in on red leather sofas with a complimentary coffee, easiest check in ever. My friend who's getting married was sent prosecco and chocs in the room with a personal note. I confessed to spilling red wine over the bed and bathrobe and was sent a lovely note saying they wouldn't charge me. The restaurant is about as close you can get to a Michelin star dining experience for €36, amazing food, a real experience. I just can't fault the Albus, i intend to return to Amsterdam as soon as funds allow and wouldn't co wider staying anywhere but here. 10/10- Book it!!

"Weird but friendly"
Excellent location for sightseeing although in our case it was for family visiting. Our first room was noisy and really only suitable for one person with minimal privacy for the WC etc However the staff found us a much nicer room the next day and were very helpful. The décor and lighting are much too dark and the remote switches didn't work well. Although it was August and hot; the A/C lowest temp was 19C. The housekeeping was good. We didn't try the restaurant but it seemed popular and quite noisy.

"Highly recommended, enjoyable stay."
This was our second time staying at Hotel Arena and we weren't disappointed again. The staff are extremely helpful and welcoming on check in and out. Our room was very clean and all the facilities were of a good standard. The building and decor itself are very good. Breakfast was delicious. If you book breakfast on arrival it is 15.50 Euro per person. Location is extremely ideal. Close enough to tram it in but far enough away to enjoy the quieter side of Amsterdam. Only downfalls were the thin walls (converted top floor mean walls were plasterboard) and the shower drain not drawing quickly and because it was a wet room, it flooded. But this didn't affect our stay at all.
