We really enjoyed our stay at Acostar. The location was great for us, within walking distance of everything central. If your there for coffee shops in particular, there's conveniently a decent one right next door, reasonably priced and a nice atmosphere. The room we stayed in, was on the 5th floor, as there was no lift, this is a challenging climb at the end of a day of exploring. The room was lovely, a nice sized comfy bed, a fan which was very welcome given the heat on the top floor, and a lovely shower. The only downsides to the room, were the bathroom flooding after each shower due to it being a wet room shower, and having to walk in cold water to go to the toilet. The housekeepers mopped this daily though. And no socket close to the bathroom mirror for drying hair. Overall, we had a great stay!

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Rijks, Stedelijk and Van Gogh Museums. The hotel is located on a canal but our room had a view of a side street. The only downside of our experience was that there was loud construction noise that started at 7:30 am on the side street. Also, there was major construction at the cross street. We gave the room comfort a score of 4 because the room was dimly lit but overall we were pleased with our stay.

The hotel is situated on the edge of the museum quarter and is very close to the main tram stops, shops, canal cruises, museums and vondlepark. We were away to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and the concierge desk were key in finding us an excellent Michelin starred restaurant for our anniversary. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Bord'Eau and a complimentary bottle of champagne from the Marriott to help us celebrate.

The hotel rooms were fairly but great location everything is walking distance . Staff were amazing from check in to check out . Had a issues with the A/C when I first arrived but it was resolved right away.

Good location for exploring Amsterdam, never needed to take buses or trams. 197 bus stop from airport right outside hotel. Room a little tired looking, but everything was there and had a good nights sleep

Easy walking distance to museum district, cafes etc. You can get a hop on and hop off canal barge a few yards away or a canal trip. Useful for visiting other sites and parts of the city. However a good walker can cover if all by foot. Please remember that to visit Anne Frank's house you need to do it online at time you book your holiday otherwise you gave to queue as only open between 3.30 pm to 6.09 pm and the queues are usually around the block. Expect to wait for 2 hours. As far as the hotel is concerned we had two rooms. There is daily cleaning and replacement of towels. The shower was actually powerful. A nice change from the usual dribble you get with hot water. However in both rooms the extractor fan in the bathrooms didn't work and the glass shelf below the mirror sloped at a steep angle. We had rooms that were around an air shaft rather than looking over the street/canal. It was very quiet but had to close the window because of smell from what must have been drains at bottom of that air shaft. Overall for three stars you only want some where to sleep and use as a base for site seeing. The staff at reception were very helpful when the safe in the room decided not to work the night before we left. They are on duty 24 hours a day. Thee is also a luggage room by reception to leave your bags after checkout so you can do ima bit more site seeing before you are picked up for airport. We used the shuttle bus. If you got a hotel near grand central station use the train

It was a small room, but clean and the people at the reception were very friendly. The hotel is very well located.

The staff was very helpful. The location was great, walking distance to the canal, tour offices, park, plaza and all modes of transportation. Will definitely stay there again and recommend it for others.

Room servicing was done very late which mean that we could not use our room for a nap in the afternoon. Staff were very helpful, cheerful and professional. Hotel restaurant and staff were excellent - could do with changing the menu more than once a week.
