"Charming Hotel right on the River Thames"
Beautiful converted brewery. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and clean crisp linens. Bathrooms are gorgeous. Right in the center of Henley and next to the river.

"Olde Worlde Hotel"
We were really looking forward to this break away but it was a very cold time of year. When we were shown to our room on arrival, it was freezing. Droughts were whizzing down the chimney and through the old windows that did not close properly. We asked to be moved and the staff were very pleasant about it and quickly moved us to a slightly warmer and larger room but unfortunately this too was very cold. The draughts from the ill fitting windows in the bedroom and bathroom proved too much and we left after only one night. We could not close the bedroom door without locking it with a key, and there was no lock on the bathroom door. The beds however were very cosy and the. Sheets and duvet were clean and crisp but dressing gowns and slippers would have been a bonus. Unfortunately, the food too was not of the standard one would expect from a four star AA Hotel so we were a bit disappointed. The staff were very polite and offered us an extra heater for our room but even this did little to take away from the chill. I think this Hotel could be much better if the windows could be double glazed and the food improved. We were the only guests and I think they had been busy over the New Year. Perhaps we came at the wrong time?

"Lovely old hotel in a country location. "
Unfortunately the toilet in our bathroom did not flush, nor did the radiator work. However we were then allocated another room without any fuss. The breakfasts and evening meals were excellent and all the staff most helpful.

Extremely comfortable room. Fantastic included breakfast and very friendly manager. Only slight issue is the dodgy wifi, but otherwise extremely good.

"Unusual setup, friendly staff!"
An unusual setup where a small number of rooms (8 I think) are available in a management/course centre adjacent to the golf clubhouse. Our experience was spoilt as our room did not have an ensuite bathroom. Instead a private locked bathroom was available just along the corridor. This may be fine if you are lucky enough to be able to sleep all night through without needing to use the bathroom, otherwise you are likely to disturb other guests by unlocking/locking the bedroom and bathroom doors in the middle of the night. The room and bathroom were both very clean and well stocked with all you need for a short stay. The surroundings were fabulous with breakfast served in the clubhouse next door overlooking the fountain and golf course. The staff (in particular the very friendly and helpful man who was waiting in the clubhouse for our late arrival at 9pm) were excellent both in the clubhouse bar restaurant and in the golf pro-shop. I enjoyed a good round of golf on the very forgiving and well kept course. Buggies and even electric trolleys were available for hire. I would recommend this place to others due to the value for money and friendly staff but I would strongly suggest arriving early when the clubhouse is open and in daylight hours.

"Central Location"
An excellent hotel. Our room was large with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was a little small but fine. As for the breakfast that was excellent as was the service. All in all a lovely stay.

Pocket Guide: Oxfordshire Henley-on-Thames 4 stars Hotels

Henley is justifiably famous for its annual Royal Regatta at the end of June, the biggest and best-known rowing competition in Britain, which takes place between Henley Bridge and Temple Island. It also holds a black tie music festival in July, and the 80s music festival Rewind in August. For the rest of the year it is a quiet riverside town dotted with quaint pubs and pricey boutiques.
