"We got put into a different property than the one in the pictures however it was a lovely spacious place to stay. It had a balcony with a roof so we could sit out even in the rain. It had an inflatable hot tub which was different to the one in the pictures as the one in the pictures was a normal hot tub however this wasn’t an issue. "On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome, shown to our lovely Shepherds Hut, it was clean and tidy, nothing was too much trouble for us. The pub was so welcoming, and the food was just amazing, good home cooked food! Overall we had a lovely, peaceful weekend with our collies, lots of walks and fresh air, good food and wonderful accommodation. We would definitely recommend and will most definitely stay there again."

"This is not the property you get when you get here. The hot tub was not even turned on when we arrived and was still freezing the next day. Dog hairs and human hairs all over the furniture. "We stayed here the weekend just gone (May 10th 24) as a surprise for my 40th birthday. It was peaceful, pretty and private. The setting was stunning and even had a few sheep near by. The cabin was great with everything we needed to make our stay a good one. We met the owner who made sure we were ok and pointed us in the direction of a tasty meal at the Sun Hotel. Would fully recommend if looking for a completely chilled few days. Can’t wait to stay again : )"

"Hosts were great and lovely and friendly. The hut was very cosy and warmed quickly with the log fire. It's worth noting there's no electricity on site, except a solar powered shared kitchen area and a few solar charged auto lights. The log burner gives off plenty of heat but not much light. A torch would be VERY beneficial. You're on site with lots of animals around which is brilliant for kids and like staying on a farm. Just be wary fly's in the hut can be a problem if doors' windows are left...

Character and good service in a splendid setting
"We stayed here for one night after attending a wedding near by. We arrived at 10 pm in heavy rain and were warmly welcomed at the door by the owner who quickly checked us in and showed us to our room. Next morning we woke to sunshine and wonderful views to the surrounding hills. Breakfast was very good and service was excellent. Fellow EV drivers may be interested to know that free charging is offered to guests upon request - according to the hotel directory in our room. We didn’t register seeing this on the hotel web page. The building has many historic features and has the normal quirks of an old building such as slightly sloping floors in places. We would certainly be happy to return here and stay longer as there is plenty to see and do in the wider region."
