SNOWDONIA LODGE RETREAT.Previously. Holiday lodge to let.

Historic cabin in Blaenau Ffestiniog
Our cosy, genuine Norwegian style LOG CABIN is situated in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, on the tranquil Trawsfynydd Holiday Village.
.
We bought our cabin in 2012. Built in the early 70's it has stood the test of time pretty well.
Keeping the cabin in good order takes time, money and hard work. Although we have made a lot of changes since 2012, we constantly strive to make our cabin cozy and welcoming, yet there is always work to be done. We have kept some of the original features of the cabin, some people might say it looks 'tired' we call it character.
Please note:-
After this summer season, which saw us booked virtually back to back, one or two 'snags' have developed which are too big a job to be done during a 2 hour change over window, for example torn lino and a small area of thread bear carpet near the door in a well trodden area from the lounge/dining area through to the kitchen. The lino and carpets through out, are due to be replaced this November, when the village closes for the month in order for such jobs to be completed.
Covid has meant we had no access to the cabin and has also made it difficult to obtain materials.
So please bear with us, we are aware of what needs to be done and just as soon as is possible we shall get it sorted. Thank you for your understanding and patience. In the mean time we hope you enjoy your stay and don't see these slight issues as too much of a problem.
.

Outside our decking makes the perfect place to relax and take in the stunning views of the Rhinog mountains. The private garden is safe and ideal for children to play.
Off road parking with space for one car means your car is safe and away from other vehicles.
You are welcome to bring along two dogs, because we understand they are part of your family.

The cabin is double glazed and heated all year round. The inside comprises of large open plan lounge with comfortable seating for four. Recently installed flame effect electric fire, Dining table and four chairs and fully equipped, modern kitchen.
All bedding and towels are provided with the beds made up ready for your arrival, we also provide a basic welcome pack which includes 'hotel style' tea coffee sugar etc.
36" HD/LCD TV with freeview and DVD player.
Small selection of books & DVD's, are provided to beat the boredom on rainy days.
There is a small, functional shower room comprising of shower, hand basin, toilet and heated towel rail as well as electric wall heater.

The cabin sleeps four between one double bed and two bunk beds which comfortably sleep adults and children alike. Both rooms have heating and storage. All bed linen and towels are provided.

Outside there is a secure gated decking safe for young children and pets. The decking also has a table and four chairs, with stunning views over to The Rhinog mountains.

Within the village there is a Reception which is staffed from 9am - 5pm daily and comprises of a well stocked shop and off licence, plus laundry facilities.

As the cabin is situated in the mountains any WiFi signal in the cabin itself is very hit & miss. Free WiFi is available within the vicinity of reception until 9pm, with no password required.
🤓 Please be aware there is NO internet connection within the cabin.

There is a large childrens play area with swings, goal posts, climbing frame and baseball net etc. With plenty of room for a kick about with a ball.
The village is relatively car free so is safe for children to explore on their bikes or scooters.

The Rhiw Goch pub was unfortunately destroyed by fire in 2018, however we can highly recommend The Brynn Arms, just a short drive away along the A470 at Gellilydan (LL41 4EN), as an alternative. You can contact them on 01766 590655 should you wish to book ahead.
Porthmadog is just a 20-30 mins away where you will find an Aldi, Lidl and a 24hr Tesco.
You will never be short of things to do and places to visit as there are lots of activities just a short drive away, for all ages.

Coed y Brenin the world renowned mountain bike center is just four minutes away on the A470 Ideal for mountain bikers and walkers alike, with trails leading off directly from the village. The local area is considered a walkers paradise. There are no street lights, so no light pollution, a clear night sky is a sight to behold. Snowdonia National Park has just been named as a Dark Sky Reserve, one of only 11 in the uk. A must for any astronomers out there.

There are a number of Blue Flag beaches close by too. Roughly 30 mins away there is Porthmadog, Blackrock Sands and Barmouth. As well as fishing, golf, horse riding, pony trekking, white water rafting to name a few, all close by.

There is a welcome pack in the cabin with local info such as doctors, taxi's etc. as well as suggestions on places to visit and things to do with lots more ideas in reception.

Our caretakers are on hand to deal with most any eventualities. In the unlikely event that you should experience a problem their contact details can be found in the ''Welcome' folder.

Our brochure/info pack is available, with travel instructions and a map of the village to help you find our cabin on arrival. Simply message us with your postal address if you would like to receive one.

We look forward to welcoming you to our lodge in 2021

Have Fun!

Chris & Kath.
