Compared to the prices that you can pay in Manhattan this hotel was really good value. The staff were friendly it was clean even had the bonus of breakfast - cereal, toast &muffins a few cooked items and a waffle maker, but enough to get you going in a morning.
The location is also good. You're in China town and heading 1 minute round the corner (to the west) is Canal street. Just North of that (within 5 minutes) is little Italy. Heading East of the hotel doors there are lots of streets with bars and restaurants. Pianos was a favourite and within 15 minutes walk. Heading South of the hotel will take you to the Financial district and WTC memorial site as well as ferries to Staten Island and the Statue of Liberty. You're also within a minute of Manhattan Bridge, with Brooklyn bridge about 10 minutes away.
The nearest Subway is Grand street within a 2 minute walk.

We spent four nights here. Check-in/check-out was smooth. We spent a lot of time doing things in the city. Our room was not spacious, but it was certainly adequate for my wife and me (desk, office chair, tv, small refrigerator, dresser, closet, etc.). The room and bathroom were very clean and our king bed was wonderfully comfortable. We were on the 2nd floor and the room was very quiet. Breakfast was good and the staff person maintaining it did an excellent job ensuring that no items ran out. Breakfast area is very small (10 seats, after all, this is NYC), but it was easy enough to take food back to the room when the area was full. Number of parking spaces is limited, but we always found a space. That probably is not the case at times, but there are other parking options nearby. The subway stop is only two blocks away and it is an easy 20 minute ride into Grand Central.

We would defitely stay here again. Had an initial concern about the n'borhood but it turned out to be just fine. The McDonalds is just a block away, and the subway is just a block beyond that. There is a small diner next to the subway (Spiro's Pizza) that has the most amazing menu-mexican, Italian & Greek--and while it looks like not much from outside, the cooking is great. Our room at the hotel was good, just really small. Breakfast was OK, lots to choose from but eggs and sausage not tasty.
