Where’s Hot in April ?

Forget April showers, this month you’ll be enjoying unlimited sunshine and plenty of tanning opportunities. With so many hot countries to choose from in April, the only question you’ll need to ask yourself is: where should I go first?

Top 5 Hottest Destinations in April

April marks the start of the dry season in tropical climates. This means little chance of rainfall across countries in the Southern Hemisphere and – as you’d expect - lots of sun.

1. Seychelles

April is one of the calmest, warmest months on the Seychelles’ calendar. During this time, head to Curieuse National Park, one of the island’s most diverse natural reserves. On your trip, keep an eye out for the weird and wonderful wildlife that live here, such as the Seychelles’ black parrot, Aldabra tortoises and local giant hump-head parrotfish.

2. Mexico

April marks the end of Mexico’s dry season, so expect piping hot temperatures. If beach parties are your idea of fun, then head to Cancún. Here you will find fist-pumping nightclubs, such as Coco Bongo and The City, sat alongside luxury hotels and crystal-clear waters. If you prefer things a little calmer, head to Puerto Morelos. This scenic fishing village is well-known for its calm turquoise waters and white-washed lighthouses which line the shore.

3. Egypt

Egypt enjoys average temperatures of 31°C in April with a pleasant north-westerly breeze. Whether sun-bathing in Sharm El Sheikh, diving in Hurghada, or visiting the Pyramids of Giza – the last remaining wonder of the ancient world – Egypt is sure to sate the appetite of travellers.

4. Orlando

Known for its uncertain subtropical summers, Orlando is an ideal destination to visit in springtime. With clear blue skies likely, a visit to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park should be top of your list. Positioned beside the world-famous Disney World, this park is home to sandy beaches, lazy rivers and one of the world’s largest wave pools, which is perfect for playing under the Florida sun.

5. Maldives

Head to the Maldives in April and you will catch the very end of summer, when winds are calm, rainfall is low and temperatures are warm and pleasant. This is a perfect time of year to head to Hanifaru Bay in Baa Atoll, the place where the world's largest groupings of manta rays can be seen. This is also a nursery ground for stings rays, multi-coloured fish and grey sharks – so don’t forget your camera!
