"We (2 girlfriends and me) had an amazing stay here at Serenity!!!! Staff were soo friendly and engaging and helpful and sweet. Beach club surpassed all the adjacent beach lounges. Felt cared for, safe and so comfortable. Our second hotel also fell through and we just returned to Serenity because we felt so good there. Tent accommodations were beautiful, luxurious feeling and really well cleaned. We had massive beds, a/c, pool and spa right nearby. My only criticisms were that the Serenity dinner menu was limited and Americanized and did not change. So, since we were 20-30 minutes taxi drive from Playa del Carmen we didn’t eat as much ‘local’ cuisine as we would have liked. Next time, would plan more ‘in town’ dinners, but the beach club always delivered drinks, guac and ceviche that won me over."

"Hotel Esencia is an absolute gem! Hands down my favorite 5 star property we have ever stayed at. It’s great for both families and couples. Beef Bar restaurant, although very expensive, is unreal and worth every penny! The beach is perfect and the lagoon Manatee tour with Pansqual is a must! A few minor complains are that we were charged a ghastly price for a second round of covid testing after our original flight was canceled so we had to retest. The tests were only advertised as complimentary all over their social media and website. Also don’t expect immediate 5 star service as staffing is quite sparse due to COVID-19 (which is understandable). With that being said I give the property 5 stars without question and would highly recommend to everyone!!"
