"Good location to see Oxford and surroundings. Was there related to a confernece, the hotel provides a modern yet cozy place to stay. Staff this time were very kind and showed great hospitality, in particular front desk and coffee shop."

Fantastic stay in the cottage - immaculately presented room with loads of space and a very nice selection of snacks. The staff in the Inn were incredibly welcoming and made for a totally relaxed break. Food at dinner and breakfast was delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough

Had complimentary upgrade to 'Wisdom' garden room - it was absolutely delightful. Great breakfast each day. Ate from the Bar menu on one evening which was delicious! Very high calibre of staff and nothing was too much trouble! 2 minute walk to main High Street with nice quirky shops to nose around.

We had a fantastic time at the Lords of the Manor, it really is an exceptional hotel. A very relaxed atmosphere and the staff make you feel at home as soon as you walk in. They were especially accommodating with our dog who stayed with us. The hotel gardens are huge and we’re a lot bigger than we thought, stretching down to the river. It’s a great place to explore the Cotswolds.

We were wedding guests at the nearby Hyde Barn. We chose it because it was over the road. It is within walking distance but there is no pavement and it’s a pretty busy road so we drove there and walked back when the road was quieter although pretty dark.
We were in room 201 and it was lovely and cool even though it was 30 degrees. It was quiet at night despite being so close to a main road. The bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was a little disappointing but overall it was a great stay

I don't normally use superlatives but for this place I am prepared to make an exception. We stayed for two nights and from start to finish it was an excellent experience. The welcome was warm. Love this place. The village is beautiful and full of Cotswolds charm, whilst the pub is an absolute delight for foodies. Tremendous value given the quality of the accommodation and the food. Our room was luxurious and spacious. Loved the 100 Acres toiletries, the farmhouse-style breakfast and the super-comfortable bed. This is a great base from which to explore the Cotswolds.

Having stayed here before a few times, I knew it was going to be very good again. Food served swiftly and very hot. Nice service and good choice. Had a four poster bed in the room which was great and the noisy floorboards added to the character of the hotel. Good choice for food over breakfast from continental to cooked English breakfast. Pleasant hosts and clean in a great location to visit the Cotswolds. Recommended

Stayed for one night, tried for two but was fully booked. Apart from one mishap where the shower drain would not drain away and when it did it left gunge on the floor of the shower.
However that would not deter us from staying again. Staff were excellent food was out of this world. Best night sleep l have ever had due to a bed that was 100%. Would recommend to anyone that wanted to stay in Moreton in Marsh.

A weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city trips to local villages a pleasure the country roads were a dream to drive on plenty of places to stop and enjoy the scenery then back to the hotel to sample the local ale & food what more could you wish for

Excellent stay in a remarkable Manor house. We had lovely views of the field from our room. The breakfast service is excellent! I can recommend this hotel for a great Cotswolds experience.

The best area to stay in Windrush is the historic village centre, particularly around High Street and the surrounding lanes.
This area is the heart of Windrush, characterised by its traditional Cotswold stone cottages, independent shops, and welcoming pubs. High Street runs through the middle, with smaller, quieter lanes branching off, offering a picturesque setting for a relaxing stay. You'll find many of the village's amenities within a short stroll.
Couples looking for a tranquil and picturesque getaway will find the village centre perfect. You can enjoy leisurely walks along the Windrush River, explore the local craft shops, and dine at excellent gastropubs, all within moments of your accommodation. The area provides a quintessential English village experience.
For those travelling with a family, staying slightly outside the immediate High Street area, perhaps towards the edge of the village, can offer more spacious accommodation options, often with gardens.
When is the best time to go to Windrush?
The best time to go to Windrush is during the late spring to early autumn months, specifically from May to September.
This period offers the most pleasant weather for exploring the Cotswolds. You'll find warmer temperatures, longer daylight hours, and generally less rainfall, making it ideal for enjoying the picturesque countryside, walking trails, and village attractions. The gardens are in full bloom, and outdoor events are more frequent.
For couples looking for a romantic getaway, May, June, and September are particularly good. These months offer comfortable weather for leisurely strolls through honey-coloured villages like Bibury or Bourton-on-the-Water, without the peak crowds of the summer holidays. You can enjoy al fresco dining and visits to historic sites with a more relaxed feel.
Families travelling with children will find July and August to be excellent. While these are the busiest months, the weather is typically at its warmest, great for outdoor activities such as exploring wildlife parks or enjoying boat trips on the rivers.
