The room was simple, clean, and homely, with the staff cleaning the room every day and leaving some nice touches such as a small Easter egg for us in addition to the usual tea/coffee/biscuits etc (we were staying over the Easter bank holiday weekend) - a lovely thought that we appreciated muchly!
The staff were also very friendly and quick to resolve issues - the central heating boiler actually broke just as we arrived (not their fault), but they came up to explain and had a plumber called out fixed it within the hour.
Location was great - a quiet side street about halfway between Windermere and Bowness town centres - about 15 mins walk to either - very convenient but far away away enough to get some peace and quiet and a good night's sleep.
My only criticism is that there was very little hanging space in the room, nor many surfaces on which to place luggage / clothes / toiletries etc. Could have done with perhaps a small wardrobe or another sideboard / chest of drawers or similar. Particularly in the bathroom, where we could really have done with a shelf on which to place toothbrushes, makeup, contact lense stuff etc.
The mattress was also a little soft for our liking, but that's personal preference - we do like pretty firm mattresses, so I can forgive that.
Other than that, pretty good! Very reasonably priced and a lovely stay :)
