West Kennett House - Grade II listed Georgian house, Marlborough

"My husband grew up in this part of Wiltshire and we were looking for a place where the four of us could spread out as we visited with family in the region. The instructions were clear and the house everything we expected from the photos. We bought some supplies in the Waitrose and Tesco nearby in Marlborough. The house had everything we needed to prepare breakfast and dinner. On arrival, we found the host had set out some fresh flowers and some treats (wine, cookies, and chocolates) which was a nice touch. The bathrooms were clean and we found the beds to be comfortable and we all slept great. We took advantage of the washer and dryer during our stay which helped us reduce the amount of luggage for our trip. Because of the weather we didn’t get to fully enjoy the garden but for anyone that wants to walk in the downs, this house is in a great location."

"Clean, nice set up. Host was lovely. The surroundings were lovely. Beautiful garden with wildflowers. Be prepared to be visited by a large hound, who the owner advised us to shoo away if we wanted. We were comfortable, despite the heat, the owner had supplied a large fan. The sofa bed is okay, probably been overslept on and one side is scooped and the other is hard and a little slopey. But we still really enjoyed our stay here. Had problems finding it, despite directions / instructions. They only seemed clear after the fact - the property number (which is on the gate) would have been helpful. We would be happy to stay here again. It was a lovely little getaway / hideaway and just what we needed. Good shower. The property amenities functioned fine. There was a moka pot, cafetierre, coffee, tea bags, crockery and cutlery. Towels and bedding were clean and comfy."

"This was the most peaceful, relaxing place! The space is styled so well and it was so comfortable and a real gem to stay in. I would definitely recommend and would definitely book again. It was the perfect place for a weekend of relaxation, the hot tub was a bonus."
