"Breakfast buffet is quite limited but adequate. Toast, jam, assorted fruits, sausage, bacon, eggs, beans and hash browns. Scrambled eggs would have been better. Room was quite large but old. Peeling paint on the baseboard, old granny wallpaper and a bathroom from 1980. The toilet won't flush without a lot of extra effort. Air conditioner would have been appreciated. It was 81 degrees (27) and stifling in the room. This hotel needs updating desperately. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and the landscape is stunning "

"Great hotel, beautiful building. Appreciating the hotel is family owned, it could do with a little modern tlc TV didn’t work in the bedroom for channels 1-4. Extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work, towels are quite old, Check your dinner bill, we had 3 bottles of wine added to the bill but we’d only had 1 £25 bottle. We were being charged for 2 x £45 bottles we’d not had. When we called to get the tv satellite sorted in our bedroom it was the waiter and head waiter who attended our room #faultytowers Could be 5* but I’m reluctant to give it more than 3*, £200 for 1 night without breakfast is expensive for mother and daughter aged 83 & 52. We’ll shop around n xx time."

"The bar area and restaurant were very nice although we ate in the restaurant on our first night and the food was good but we felt rushed and I ordered a glass of rose which was warm. We felt the bedrooms were very outdated, the beds were very hard, lumpy and too low. The lighting in the bedroom by the desk/dressing table was non existent. The room was cleaned but we were not given any toilet roll."

"The Hotel has a nice view of the river. The room was clean and comfortable but rather small, there was only room for one chair in the room so with two guests one would have to sit on the bed. The bathroom was adequate but again rather small. This was Ok for a one night stay but if we were staying longer it would have felt quite cramped. There was no guide to hotel facilities in the room and the telephone was not working. Staff were approachable and friendly but I felt they were understaffed at times, particularly in the restaurant. The continental breakfast was rather uninspiring with a very limited choice of cereals. It would have been helpful to have known about the car parking charge in advance rather than being told upon checkout."

"We visited here on Friday on our way through,having had a couple of not so nice experiences with premier inn and them lying I thought I’d change to holiday inn express,nice welcome on arrival and entrance and inside clean and inviting,room good size with all amenities you could want,bed super comfy which set for a good nights sleep You get a free breakfast also,which to be fair was only just warm but filled a gap but it’s free so cant expect much,all in all a happy customer"
