"The staff are incredibly nice and helpful, most specifically at the reception desk. The property is in a fabulous area and setting. Our bedroom was quite large, fitted with the bare basics, and plain decor. Room was tired and needing an update. Not much storage space for clothes and the lack of air-conditioning was uncomfortable in the evenings and at night (needed due to the lovely hot weather outside). We visited at peak season and the hotel was packed, but our room was lovely and quiet. So some good things and some poor. Glad we got a deal through a 3rd party website - at full price I would probably have been disappointed. Staff and location are the main assets."

"A lovely clean spacious room with a large bathroom. Parking is to the front but restricted to 2 hours between 10am and 4pm. This is a quirky hotel with loads of personality and with just a couple of attentions to detail could improve greatly. All the power sockets for the room were on wall meaning nothing could be plugged in by the bed, not even the bedside lamp (which was there with nothing to power it!). Same problem with the hairdryer, great it was provided but once plugged in there were no mirrors within reach! The hotel is charming, great value and in a great location so I will use it again but please think about improving the number of power points, or provide an extension lead. Do that and I'll give you 5 stars next time. Thanks."

"A tastefully developed pub with ample rooms, stylish appearance and appealing atmosphere. Dinner was a little disappointing (had the buttermilk chicken burger) which felt as if it had been pre-prepared/defrosted and reheated. May have just been an unlucky experience as generally the food reviews are very good and the breakfast was truly excellent and very fresh. Husband's burger was good. Staff very pleasant. We had a waterside suite which looked over the cricket pitch at the back so was quiet. Used it as a base to start the Thames Path walk at its source near Kemble."
