The room itself was ok, bed very uncomfortable (hard and lumpy), sheets had holes in, the bathroom door lock was on the floor and there was old food on the luggage rack; supposed to be extra clean? There were plenty of hand sanitiser bottles around, however one in both of the lifts had spillages on the floor which were never cleaned, the whole two days we were there.
Lots of hidden costs that hotels.com do not tell you about; parking had to be paid for which I think is shocking considering there is nothing else around apart from the motorway. The hotel is noted as pet friendly on hotels.com, but Hilton do not agree; luckily they allowed us to have our two small dogs with us, but we had to pay £35 a day...which again, was not outlined in the small print. In addition to that, I called Hilton before booking and was assured it would be totally fine to have the dogs, no mention of charges?
The ordering of breakfast is also a big miscommunication, one member of staff tell us we will get a call when breakfast is ready to collect, another says we have to be in reception for that time and wait. the breakfast itself was ok, no butter for our toast on the second day though which is a pain when it takes several minutes to go back to the lobby...All in all, the staff are very friendly, but, misinformed, which for us made it awkward, especially with hidden costs.
