The room was great, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice, the shared parlor was a bonus. But, if you just want to bask in history, this is the place to stay. And, as an extra treat, the front of the building was featured in Harry Potter 5\. There really wasn’t any parking outside or around the village, so I parked outside a house worried that my car would be damaged for upsetting the locals. Doorways are low, floors a little uneven etc. Not unsafe but one needs to take care. Even though the room was not very big, it had all we needed. It was a different experience. We wanted to stay in place with history, wooden beams and character and we definitevely got that - as well as comfort. The food was amazing, very gourmet, and the staff were fantastic. Super nice and helpful! The hotel has a lovely garden area where you can eat or drink outdoors.
