"We stayed for just one night before visiting longleat, the building and rooms were tired and need do need refurbishing but it was totally fine for a short stopover .
The staff were so friendly and made a real effort with our 2 children, particularly Isla (I think that was the girls name)
Good car park provided free of charge."

"Great place to stay.
Spacious bedroom with a good bed and quality bedding. Radio and TV in the room plus tea and coffee making facilities plus welcome shortbread on arrival.
The food was excellent and the staff were friendly.
It is situated on a busy road but don’t let that put you off - see if you can get one of the quieter rooms at the back.
Worth a visit and situated in a great area/countryside."

The hotel had a good location for walking into the town centre. They offered a very good selection for breakfast and the staff were super friendly and helpful.
I found the room very warm, even though I tried to cool it using the air conditioning but obviously other visitors may not find that a problem.

Lovely period hotel. Bar serving lots of craft ales and offer delicious fresh meals, our evening meal and breakfast were amazing! Friendly staff that couldn’t do enough for us, we felt very welcome. Room was spotless and bed was so comfortable we will definitely be returning.
Visited the Saturday market just at the end of the street & cathedral opposite the hotel, perfect spot to explore.
My only criticism was hotel has no parking, but we managed to park next to cathedral on Cathedral Green,...
