"We wanted quiet, peaceful, beautiful, unique and considerate and that’s what we got. To be woken up by pheasants and lambs, dinner at The Plough, logs being burnt inside and out and amazing views and walks… it was all there."

Our room had a beautiful sea view, definitely worth the extra pennies. It’s a bit of a shame that the road just below is quite busy and noisy throughout the day. Nevertheless, it was great to be so close to the sea, we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way."

"The hotel is centrally situated, close to the train station and at the center of Rye, a most charming historically preserved town with houses reflecting six centuries of life in Sussex. Despite the history of The George Hotel, it has all the amenities, a wonderful restaurant and patio, a made to order breakfast, nice rooms with a tv with cable and radio which plays BBC, jazz and classical music, a shower with great water pressure, an Italian coffee press and fresh coffee and an assortment of high quality teas. The staff is helpful, friendly and gracious. It was quite perfect."
