The Fossil Frackley Ash Hall
I'm reluctant to criticise any hotel at the moment but my experience here can't be blamed on outside influences. During lockdown it would have been an ideal time to address maintenance issues but this place lacked any TLC. We were told items had been removed from the room due to covid but the first thing we had to do was remove a load of grubby old scatter cushions from the bed - what purpose do they serve & how many people have handled them? We had booked for four nights took breakfast the first morning. The tables in the breakfast room needed a good coat of varnish that aside scrambled egg served on soggy toast & poor coffee deterred us from breakfasting there or eating there again. The walls are paper thin & I don't enjoy listening to TV channels selected by my neighbours nor their intimate conversations. The corridors to the rooms are very narrow and it is impossible to practice social distancing. Overall it was all very disappointing and I will never return.
