"Check in was easy and location was good, thise are the only positives. The property is extremely dated and dirty. The furnishings in communal areas were torn, threadbare, stained, dirty and smelly. The carpets were dirty, covered in dog and human hair. There was mould above the shower and dirt and mould under the sink. The areas around the toilets were soiled with rusted old urine splashes. "Fantastic bathroom. Comfortable bed. Helpful staff. A bit of a rabbit warren. No lift to upper floors. An elderly couple were struggling up the stairs and were not finding it easy. The staff had offered to help them but they had declined. Would have helped to have written information about meal times, local transport especially train service, contact numbers and places of local interest"

"We stayed just for 1 night. The room is a little cosy but very clean and comfortable. Shower was great but as a warning, whilst the room was marked as mobility friendly it's not wheelchair friendly. There is a step up into room and no room to manoeuvre a wheelchair into bathroom I would say. Breakfast was good quality and a good selection."

"I had a lovely stay at the Hope Anchor. The hotel is in a good spot, in a quiet but central location with a nice view over the town and countryside. The room was a good size with a good view outside. It’s a historic hotel, which adds to the atmosphere. The bathroom was large and modern. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. I had a lovely short stay there in Rye."
