We arrived for a short break for our wedding anniversary. On arrival we were met by Gayle, the proprietor, and shown around. We were given a very warm welcome. This is a lovely boutique hotel that absolutely gives the personal touch. The room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and all the little details you would expect (plus a few unexpected, gorgeous brownies). We will definitely be going back in the future.

Friendly and relaxing yet exceedingly comfortable
The hosts at Sentry Mead were excellent. Looked after all our needs. The room was quite large and quite well furnished. Breakfasts were top class with an enormous choice.Everybody was so friendly and helpful so that made our stay really enjoyable.

Sentry Mead is a large property on a big plot of land. It is well kept both inside and out. My room was very nice with all the touches such as premium toiletries. There was a big comfy bed, a lovely en-suite, tv etc. I was pleased with the parking which was ample. I booked to take my dog and there seemed to be a little confusion over this. A bed and dish were soon provided. There were walks nearby which added to the appeal. The only problem I encountered was that dogs were not allowed in the dining room, which is understandable, but there didn’t seem to be a regular alternative. As my puppy is 6 months old, leaving her in my room while I ate is not a viable option, she is a well behaved dog but still a baby in her outlook. I had an enjoyable stay and would stay there again when my dog is a bit older.

We had a wonderful stay at Sentry Mead to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Honestly every detail had been thought of by Mark and Gayle, the wonderful hosts. The Honesty Bar was a lovely touch. Breakfast was also fantastic! Location in Totland Bay is very convenient. We can’t wait to come back.

This hotel is worth he money they are charging. The bed was very comfortable, the view nice, and the breakfast delicious.

Recently refurbished to a very high level - equivalent of 4 star hotel in my opinion. Staff were very accommodating, had excellent local knowledge & the breakfasts were excellent. Had a great vibe to the place & the honesty bar was a great touch as it allows you to chill out & take a drink...no rush! Will be returning :-)

Fantastic location right next to the beach. Mark and Gayle couldn't be nicer or more welcomng and accomodating. Mark does some brilliant eggs at breakfast. A charming little hotel that we were lucky enugh to stumble upon. We will be back at some point in the future.

Perfect place to chill out
We thoroughly recommend this hotel. Staff gave us a warm and friendly welcome and syrprused us with a card and chocolates for our wedding anniversary. Our room was comfortable and clean. We sat in the lovely garden at night.

Good location and offering
Great quiet location close to shore and restaurants. On site parking. Good room and en-suite (bath a bit small). Covid conditions managed well and felt safe throughout. Great garden and lounges to relax in. Well stocked bar for drinks in the evening if you stayed on site.

Had a very nice room on the third floor. Remember no elevator for this property but would stay again. Love the Flapjacks that owner had left for us. Loved the room it was so comfortable and cozy. I slept very well. Wished we could have stayed for breakfast but we had a limited time before catching the boat back. Would stay again here.

My previous comments say it all. An hotel that proved excellent value, we would return again without question. The parking is limited but I wouldn't expect the owners to dig part of the gardens. I used the road nearby.

A nice feel to the hotel. Friendly staff, comfortable bedroom and lounge, very good breakfasts. A good bed. Also a good location for walks and exploring the west of the Island. Jean Pierre nakes great gin and tonics too !

Perfect choice
We were made to feel very welcome the moment we arrived until we left. Lovely quiet location. Breakfast was a real treat with a wide selection. Excellent gluten free choices available. We shall return!

We had three very comfortable and restful days here.The location is lovely and the hosts go out of their way to make you feel at home. Breakfast is beautifully and freshly prepared, evening meals are available at certain times of the week and provide an excellent choice. Can't wait to come back!

Good choice
Nice guest house in quiet area of seaside town. Converted manor. Modern facilities. Cheerful hosts. Nice dinner. Had box breakfast because we needed to catch an early ferry.
