Abbey Sands Hotel

"I stayed for two weeks, the first on my own for an event at Torre Abbey. I felt safe as a woman travelling alone. Staff were very helpful and friendly. On the second week I transferred to a bigger room as my husband was joining me. Again, the staff were helpful in organising the transfer of my belongings. They suggested a lovely, big, airy room. I know the hotel has an ongoing plan to revamp rooms, so wasn't surprised that this one was a bit old-fashioned. But it was still clean and comfortable. The only problem was the television which had a will of its own when it came to channels. Staff tried to help, but it was still not working as expected. It didn't really matter as we were out a lot. I'd happily stay there again, especially as it had easy access to the sea front and Torre Abbey."

"We booked a room with a King size bed. The bed was a Queen size not King. The room was clean but very small. Not enough room for our luggage. Although the temperature outside was moderate, the room was extremely hot. The provided cooling fan made little difference. The hotel generally was very nice. The service in the lounge area was poor. Signs should be put up to advise guests to order drinks and food at the bar. We were totally ignored by the staff."

"Parking is good you can park.outsude the property free of charge. Staff friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy but compact. The shower was very small and the door was difficult to. close and open once inside It. The bed was too soft and kept moving away from the wall. The room was very hot even with the window open which made it difficult to sleep. However, the breakfast was very good. It was a buffet with my favourite tinned tomatoes an option. Also there was a proper toater"
