The Imperial Torquay
8/10 Good
"Check in was very efficient. The lobby is impressive and the hotel has a beautiful Victorian interior. Plenty of parking spaces and quite reasonably priced at £10 per night. The hotel room itself was very dated with dark wood furniture and no mini fridge. It was very clean with a large bathroom but some of the towels were marked. The bed was large and very comfortable. The dining room has a gorgeous view across the bay right over to brixham. The food choices for breakfast were extensive, some of the full English items could have been warmer but I’m just being picky. The staff were all very polite. The communal spaces were very nice but the hotel does give off an air that it needs a bit of updating. The hotel frontage is not very appealing, the 3 flags above the entrance tend to clang against the poles if it’s windy which wasn’t great as our room was directly above. Would I stay here again? Probably because it’s a great location, less than 10 minutes away from the harbour."
Abbey Sands Hotel

"Our room was lovely and spacious. The furniture is dated but it is tidy. Lovely comfy sofa and plenty of room for the travel cot. Excellent value for money for the room. We did pay extra for the breakfast but it does need improvement"

"A great experience, lovely helpful staff, lots of activities and amenities with a short walk to the front. Sadly, too short on avaliable lifts considering the hotel size and horrible sticky tables in the restaurant."
Exeter Court Hotel

"We have had previous good stays at Exeter court in blocks 1 or 2, however this time our block 5 room TV was not working, so after a staff member was unable to fix it we changed rooms. Our second room, the toilet was not flushing efficiently but staff attended to this matter once reported. Exeter Court always offers an excellent breakfast and ample free parking and is easy distance from both Exmouth and Teignmouth."

"The hotel is in a great location overlooking the sea, with a short walk down to the seafront for a dip. The terrace is a great place to enjoy a relaxing drink, overlooking the grounds and the sea. The pool is a good size and well kept. The staff were very friendly. It's a great place to join the coastal path, the walk to Dawlish and back is a great day's activity. The hotel lists several walking options depending on your time. I look forward to a longer stay next time. Waking up with the gentle sound of the sea is treat."

"We really enjoyed our stay here. Lovely room with everything we needed. Food was of a very high standard with lots of choice. Great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. Highlight of our stay were the staff. All friendly, polite and efficient."
