"Lovely stay, breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was kept nice and hot. We had Room 328 which was very bright and airy with panoramic views, the station, cricket ground and a corner view of the sea. The shower over the bath proved to be tricky in getting the right temperature without being scolded or it turning freezing cold, hence this took about 10/15 mins each day! Bed should be replaced, has probably seen better days as it was very squishy and bouncy, however, this did not ruin our stay. Both of the pools were very good as were the new changing rooms. Staff in the Compass Bar were very helpful and worked well in their roles, especially Ahmed who was always smiling, polite and helpful. Check-in staff were always professional and helpful."

"Nice big room on first floor. Very comfy beds. No housekeeping all week - not sure if you have to ask for clean towels, empty bins ?? Good buffet breakfast. Location was just a short walk to the beach and nearby parks. 10 min walk to train station Weather was lovely so we had a good week."

"Set in amazing gardens that run all the way down to the seafront. A unique property that also has a lovely swimming pool and beautiful views. Unfortunately the location and setting of the hotel is better than the rooms themselves, which were tired and basic. I had a view of the wall!!"
