Lovely hotel in lovely grounds

Posted 16-Oct-2017
Our room was in the loft and very small. The bed was so hard I woke with back pain. The shower screen was too short so all the water went onto the floor. The breakfast was in a lovely setting but it was served luke warm. I asked for a jug of water, I was told I could only have a glass, otherwise everyone else would be asking for one!!! the hotel itself and gardens were beautiful.

Dear Victoria, First of all, thank you for taking the time to pass your feedback on your most recent stay. I apologise you found your bed to be hard and sorry it had caused you pain. These are in fact brand new beds and recently refurbished bedroom. Since your stay our Maintenance have adjusted the height of the shower screen. I will be sure to pass your breakfast comments to our Head Chef and Food and Beverage manager where additional training will be provided. Kind regards, Ryan James

Great Hotel near Highgrove and the Cotswolds

Posted 16-Sep-2017
Pros: The hotel was very comfortable and provided one of the best beds that I have ever! The staff great, excellent restaurant and great food. Excellent!
Cons: Rooms need to have a fridge for guest to use.
Location: Highgrove House Gardens are a must! Lots of nice walks from the Hotel and of course the Cotswolds provide endless interest. Do visit the Hotel Restaur
A great place to stay, reasonably peacefully with some rush hour traffic noise, the only down side we had was booking via Expedia via a "Dog Friendly Web Site" this did not translate our booking being accepted as well as our pet. Its necessary to contact the Hotel directly and request a dog friendly room, which was a downgrade on our booking, also the additional charges shown by Expedia were incorrect ie Dog £10/night on Expedia but Hotel charges were £20/night! Expedia refused to refund without retaining a very significant penalty so we used the Hotel booking but left our pet in kennels!!! (wonder if Expedia will pay for this) Our first night at the hotel was bit of a disaster as the water boiler near our room started to play up producing the most amazing plumbing noises which resulted in the need for a room change organised by very apologetic and helpful duty manager. Happy that was the conclusion of all the issues from then on it was a very wonderful and pleasant experience and we really did warm to this Hotel, the Restaurant was excellent in all ways, Hotel staff were wonderful and provided a quality service for the remainder of our stay. Would recommend this Hotel.

Dear Neil, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. I am so pleased you had a comfortable night sleep (on the second night), enjoyed the food and had a pleasant stay with us. I would like to apologise for the inconvenience on the first night with the boiler. We really look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel and this time with your four legged friend. Kind regards Ryan James

Lovely hotel, attentive staff and great breakfast.

Posted 29-Aug-2017
Pros: Character
Location: It was handy for Malmesbury where I was working
This is a lovely hotel, my room was small (it was a single) but was well appointed. The staff were super, very friendly and helpful. I ate in the bar and had a tasty meal, breakfast was excellent and enjoyed it while I sat in the widow overlooking the garden.

Nice country hotel

Posted 24-Aug-2017
Stayed as a group of 3 couples and 3 dogs We were made to feel very welcome and having our pets was not a problem Bogdan and Judy were particularly helpful Beware the "Cotswold walk" to get to tetbury is cross country over quite a few stiles!

Favorite hotel of our trip

Posted 23-Aug-2017
Traveling as two adults and two teenagers, we booked the "family room” which was two separate bedrooms and a shared bath connected by a small hall — perfect for families traveling. The rooms were adorable with lovely amenities and nice linens included. The hotel, located near the town of Tetbury, has very nice grounds and cozy spaces to play games and relax by the fire. When we checked in, the hotel requested detailed information about our children's food allergies and the dining staff and chef were very conscientious about their care for two dinners and two breakfasts. It was truly appreciated. They had a number of options for the allergies, as well. There are plenty of things to do in Tetbury and near the hotel. Bath is also 25 miles away. But, it is also a great stop for a break if you are traveling on a long vacation, as we were. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

Dear Kathy, What a beautiful review to read this morning on a dark and grey morning! I am really pleased you enjoyed your 'stopover' stay with us whilst you were on your travels. It is really nice to welcome overseas travelers such as yourselves to help and guide part of your trip around the Cotswolds. We take great pride and care in all of guest bedrooms, lounges and garden space. I am pleased you enjoyed our facilities. Who would of thought we would have our fire burning in August?! Wishing you a safe and enjoyable onward travel and from all of us here, Thank you and Best wishes. Kind regards Ryan James

Fantastic dog friendly hotel

Posted 08-Aug-2017
Pros: It says it's dog friendly and it genuinely is, with the staff as interested in the animals as the human guests
If you're looking for somewhere for you and the dogs then this is well recommended. Our room was clean and comfortable and our Retriever loved it too. Loads of room for walks in the grounds of the hotel and also nearby.
