Whatever your reason for wanting to take your pet on holiday, there's no reason why man's best friend should have to miss out on the trip of a lifetime! Telford in Shropshire is home to a wide range of pet-friendly historic hotels, chain hotels and guest houses where you can bed down for the night with your pet at your side, whether you're travelling for business or leisure.
Telford's range of pet-friendly hotels includes options to suit all budgets, from three star hotels in the town centre to luxury country house hotels on the outskirts of the town. Some hotels limit the number of pets per room – others allow service dogs only - but all provide plenty of space and excellent amenities for families and couples travelling with their pets, such as climate control.
There are plenty of green spaces in the town and surrounding countryside where you can take your dog for a walk, including Telford Town Park. This 450-acre park has children's play areas, a café and sports pitches as well as open areas for dogs to run around. Or why not take your dog for a walk along the Ironbridge Way World Heritage Site on a sunny afternoon, before heading back to your hotel for dinner?
Whilst many pet-friendly hotels have a restaurant (and many offer room service), you may fancy heading out for a bite to eat. A range of restaurants can be found at Southwater Quay, whilst the town centre is home to independent tea rooms and chain restaurants where you can enjoy a casual meal in a family-friendly setting. Further out of town you'll find restaurants catering for special occasions or a romantic meal for two.
Travelling with your pet can be a delightful experience for the whole family, so choose one of Telford's pet-friendly hotels to make the most of your stay. Most hotels offer amenities such as extra beds in family rooms and free WiFi too.
