"Salvo took great care of us during our stay. The location is a hidden gem within Taormina. It’s a busy tourist area in the centre which we wanted to be in the heart of everything and we felt at home here. It’s very closed to all the attractions. We will definitely return."

"After searching for hours on various websites, we chose the Excelsior Palace Hotel because my husband thought he heard of it through friends. It could not have been better.
The location is excellent because it is at the entrance of the old town which means you have all the restaurants on your doorstep while also having space and sweeping views over the coastline and Mt Etna. Every evening we would have a drink before dinner, watching the sunset over Mt Etna, and on our last night we watched as red lava came flowing down the mountain. It was breathtaking.
The receptionists were great and they always provided good restaurant recommendations. They have a fabulous breakfast buffet in the morning, really good lunches in the restaurant near the pool, and a three course dinner menu that is delicious and well priced. On the weekends the hotel has a piano player which added to the calm and elegant atmosphere. The staff are incredible - very much an old world silver service you don’t find much anymore.
Another point about the location - the hotel is not far from the highway which is really good is you want to drive south to Syracuse or north to the islands.
I hope this review is helpful. Enjoy your time in Sicily!"

"The property has no heat and AC during our stay in April. This is the only hotel out of 6 we stayed in Sicily that doesn't have heat or AC. They claimed it is against the law during this time of year which I doubt when all other hotels we stayed because it can get cold at night in April. Poor sound insulation. "
